D48 sounds

I feel like telling the whole story sorry . I was trying to get the most data from 1 shot, don't usually shoot "big" guns in the garage. It went over the chrono first (at 1752fps) then impacted a powder can full of water in a plastic bag for a splatter shield. After blowing a 3-inch hole though that it went through 8 inches of wet phone book and buried itself in a cherry log. 115 gr. cast HP "pellet". I was wearing plugs and muffs and some other gear for this. I adjusted the gas down a little bit and shot two huge rock chucks at work the next day that were undermining the whole shop. My 30+ year old Diana 48 in .177 goes "bonk".  That's the only word I can think of.  Very quiet for a magnum springer and absolutely no twang.

After a recent spring replacement/home tune, it twanged for about 100 shots and then settled back in.

It's a tack-driving cannon from a rest, but too heavy (for me) for consistent offhand shooting.
