Gamo sent me 3 rifles for review last week:a Silent Stalker in.177",a Silent Stalker Whisper in.177",and a Varmint Hunter in.177"
The Silent Stalker Whisper and the Varmint Hunter have the new smooth action trigger. I haven't shot these 2 yet.The Silent Stalker and the Silent Stalker Whisper have Gamo's IGT gas ram. I have got the Silent Stalker shooting really good groups with JSB 10.3 grain jumbos and a different scope.Once I remembered the rule of retightening stock screws the accuracy came together.My question is will the grt4 work with Gamo's new sat trigger group?I want to swap them out after my reviews.How much different is the install with a gas ram?

Got the GRT4 in my Silent Stalker. Gas ram disassembles like a spring with the exception of a couple of shims (washers) that go behind the ram. My shims fell out while I wasn't looking but it is obvious where they go.

They call their trigger SAT. That make the GRT$ the SSSSSSSSSSSSSSAT

How is that silent sstalker .177? would you say its worth the money? i have a nitro venom, do you have any idea how they compare?

All those Gamo's mentioned have the same inerd's as far as pistons etc. except part's involved with springers and gas rams. The only real change in trigger design is possably lighter springs for a lighter pull. A Gamo trigger will never come close to the GRT series triggers. A good review should also include any changes inside the airgun and not just how it shoot's and looks since a good looking stock doesn't make for a good shooting airgun. Ed

The GRT-4G does drop in to the Gamo Rifles using the "Smooth Action Trigger," which is the same trigger as the regular black plastic Gamo triggers, so SAT really stands for, "Same Action Trigger."

Is this verified? If so Gamo has really lost their marbles.

I thought I saw a review somewhere claiming the SAT to be an improvement. May one of Rick U's.

Ive heard "Yays and Nays" about those SATs, the Nays from GTA users, and Yays from those online reviewers........fishy aint it?

Like Ed pointed out...the inerds are not changes from model to model,,,but from power-class to power-class. The trigger remains the same throughout. Most of the factory production lower to middle class airguns benefit considerably from the addition of the GRT trigger...period.

The difference between the Yay's and Nay's that Nate points out is that most of them have never really had anything to compare them to except the old triggers so they simply don't know the difference.

I've watched alot of Ricks reviews. It's the 1st place I go to check out an airgun I'm considering. He has very good detailed video of the products which helps a lot when you can't hold one for yourself. I do feel that he's being pressured by sponcers lately to give better reviews. Still gives you a good starting point as what to expect when you open the box.

I've watched several of his reviews in the past and felt like he had some experience but was still in the dark about how airguns really function. If I was having to purchase the airguns myself for reviews and not possably given to me by big airgun companies to push their names my reviews would be more detailed and include real upgrades, mod's and tuning options and part's. It's like a kid getting present's from people and then saying your my best friend no wait this other persons my best friend. I never understood why airgun companies haven't contacted real airgun tuners etc. and asked for their feedback on airguns and review and improve not only the outside but what go's on inside the airgun. JMO...Ed

You have a very good point.
BUT in Canada, some of the Gamo's are already 400-500$. Now make it the way it should be "as a tuner would" that Gamo is now a 700 dollar Gun or more

Odd, He spends a lot of time with each gun before he even starts the review finding the best pellets for FPS and Accuracy. If the trigger is rough and there is an aftermarket trigger available he will suggest it. If there is a problem with the gun like the Carbon Fiber look flaking off the grip on the NPSS he reviewed he let's you know. He gives you a perspective from a knowledgeable consumers point of view in a way 1st time buyers will understand.
I take everything I read and see on the internet with a grain of salt until I can confirm it myself, even if 10 other people agree.

thekid I don't expect some companies like Gamo and several others to kick up the quality even though it's possible without hitting the cutomer with the cost. Crosman airguns IMO have a better finished product inside their airguns and their customer service is super. I just had a back and forth dealing's with Gamo on several of their part's and was treated like a we don't care what you need. The reviews I had in mind would be driven more towards the customers need's not getting a high dollar tuned type airgun from the factory but tip's and tricks to getting more out of thier airgun and even info on vender's who offer part's, services etc. to give thier airgun the best treatment. Every aspect of the reviews would put safety first and a place where the airgunners themselves could e-mail, call in etc. and give their imput on what they want to see from the manufactures most want less bling and better quality and customer service. I would be happy with a full disassembly and close-up inspection of the inside of an airgun included in a review. Maybe manufactures would pay closer attention to the quality of workmanship inside and out. There is no excuse other than not caring for cut seals or even worse, Metal bits left inside the compression chamber.
