How similar are Crosman's 362 & Crosman 1000 ?

  I know that they are different calibers, but I wonder what their similarities are, if any. I have shot a friend's Remington Airmaster 77, which I believe is a rebranded Crosman 1000. It is a good shooter using .177 pellets only,  & pretty accurate for such a cheap rifle.  If someone on here owns both rifles & can give a comparison, it would be helpful.  THANKS

When I found out the steel breech will work on them I just had to order one, excellent price on them too.  I'm thinking that most parts for the 362 are probably mfg in house at Crosman too, like all of the 22xx's are.

I believe they are totally different animals.
The Legacy 1000 is pretty much a plastic version of the venerable 2100....(same as AM77 Remington)
The 362 is a rifle sized 1377 American Classic If I am not mistaken.....(If I am off base with that, I will be corrected!)

James when I get mine I'll do some chrony/pics shooting my 16.5 grain wad cutters for three pumps, 7 pumps and 10 pumps after I put the steel breech on it.

You are not off base.... others to add to that upper list are the 766 and 2200 Magnum.

Yup. they share many of the same components....
I have upgraded a few 2200's with the 1000 aluminum pump rod, but now I need to find a suitable plastic bushing to install near the pump arm end to avoid galling of the pump tube...

As a matter of fact, the hoopla around this C362 has given me the urge to spend some time with my many pumper guns. They have been pastured since my foray into PCP got hot and heavy. Time for a little trip in the wayback machine....
Question.... Would that be Mr. Wizard and the turtle or Sherman and Peabody?
Regardless, with the temps dropping, I can set up 10m in the mancave. What would be more convenient than shooing off the bar?

Well, I am in Arizona and for example today January 7 the high will be near 70. Once I get the C362 and install the steel breech, clean the barrel and secret sauce all the pivot joints, check for lube inside I cannot wait the put some pellets down the tube and start shooting 27 yard groups. That's the longest that I can shoot in the yard. Oh yeah and mount and sight in the scope. Don't plan on any mods except something with the trigger, but it's fun to read about what all the rest of you guys are doing with mods.

first thing I did with mine out of the box was to wipe out the barrel and give it 10 pumps to check pumping effort, then after the next few shots at 5 pumps I read the manual.  They tell you that 8 pumps is the maximum reccomended.

 IMO it was worth the short wait, bummer they did not make it out intime to be under everyone's trees, but it is a good use of ones holiday gift cards etc.

 The 362 may share the metal pump piston parts, have not measured to see if exact fit or not. The feel of the 362 is much more solid than the 1000, I am afraid I will snap the 1000 in 1/2 when going over 6 pumps, Not so with the 362.

So...........first call tomorrow will be to UPS to see if a different day is an option.
