Calling all RWS/Diana LP8 owners

I'm having a bit of difficulty with my LP8. If you own one you could be of some help. Would only take a minute to check this.

1) with the pistol UNCOCKED and the barrel in it's locked up position, grab the muzzle with one hand and with your other hand holding the grip or frame of the pistol securely, see if the muzzle can be moved up and down. Movement, if there at all, may not be much. Basically you are looking for vertical 'slop' at the pivot.

2) now check this with the pistol COCKED. Please use common sense and exercise safety with your hand on the muzzle with a cocked pistol.

OK I did it.
With the gun uncocked I might have 1/millionth of a mm play.
With the cocked and loaded, no movement AT ALL!

I did find out that my fancy grips were loose, thanks.

I still think the issue is with your cocking linkage.
It should be dead straight.

My linkage looks just like yours. What are the odds of two bent linkages in a row?? Remember this is a replacement pistol from Umerex.

If I were you, I would reset the rear elevation to the middle.
Shoot a group at 3 feet, take a giant step back and shoot another one, repeat rinse, until you are at 10 yards.
And then post them here.

Where ever it naturally falls.

When I cock my LP-8, I hold the barrel perfectly horizontal and with my right hand on the rear butt of the grip and the left hand just behind the front sight I raise it from my waist to my chest and in once motion, as if I breaking a stick over my thigh, back to my waist.  Not the easiest gun to cock with the front sight and short barrel.

Ahhh..... but that's the rub Yogi! It does not naturally fall anywhere! If left to it's own devices it may group high or low. If the barrel is manually moved to either it's low or high position within the range of vertical slop then it will group nicely either high or low of your POA depending on where you manually place the barrel before firing.

Just load a pellet, close the barrel and shoot.  Wherever it is...
How do you cock this pistol?

Yogi, Mr. Medina and I are conversing via PM and e-mail about this pistol. It's not something simple. It's not the cocking link. It's not how I'm cocking it (which is no different than any other break barrel I own). He has asked me to have patience and let the process with Diana take place. That's what I'm going to do.

I should add this-

No break barrel, rifle or pistol, should have vertical slop when locked up. From any make. Any model. Period. If I loosen the pivot bolt, the barrel flops up and down just by wiggling the pistol. And yet the breech is in it's locked state. If the pivot is tight, as it came from the factory, then light pressure from your hand on the muzzle will move the barrel up and down (yet all the while staying locked up). I'll let Diana figure it out.

I have an LP8! I've had if for about 10 years... maybe a little more. There is no slop or droop with my gun's barrel cocked or uncocked.
