Diana52 - T01 to T06 Conversion.

Hi All,

I own a Diana52 T01. I was looking to convert it to T06 trigger and piston. The kit is available from Chambers but they mention its for T05 guns. Does anyone knows here if it is possible?

It is definitely possible to convert a T01 rifle to a T06.  I'm not sure why you'd want to, though.  I like both though I believe the T06 may be slightly superior.  If you really wish to do the conversion, the T06 trigger group is standard across the board for the 34, 48, 52, 430, 460, etc.  The piston is more gun specific.  If you get the piston for the 48 or the 52 it should work fine.  You can move the piston seal from your old piston to the new one or purchase a new piston seal.  It is possible Chambers no longer has access to the parts you need.  You can check with Umarex - the former Diana parts resource or Blue Line, the current source.  Pyramyd is another possibility.  I'm sorry, I didn't notice you're in India.  You can drop an email to Diana to learn where to purchase parts for their guns in Asia.  You can find actual Diana part numbers for the parts you seek on their website. https://www.diana-airguns.de/en/

I've read the three-ball configuration of the T01 is prone to trigger housing wear and lockup issues. That could be a solid reason to upgrade.

Gun is not cocking for some reason. Have changed the compression chamber already so planning to change piston and trigger unit. Have tried almost everything already. My earlier D52 use to act like this if extra preload washers are added but this one has really baffled me. I have some one travelling from UK so can get parts from there. Chambers do ship parts to INDIA so its not really an issue.

BTW Roadworthy, are you sure T01 piston will work with To6 trigger? I am sorry to ask again, just wanted to clarify before I order the parts. I do have spare seals so that is not an issue.

The three-ball configuration of the T01 may be culpable here, like I said. The balls are prone to jamming due to dirt buildup etc., and when they do, the gun doesn't cock as it should.

I believe you have to replace the piston with the to6 piston. Was thinking of doing this myself but decided to keep it original due to being one of the first year rifles.

Mechanically speaking all are a "drop-in" in.

The difference is that the T05 and T06 stems are a bit longer so, by using them in a T01 action you will be slightly "short stroking" the gun with a small loss in power.

Apart from that, you will be gaining in smoothness and trigger lock time.

Now, on your T01 trigger, have you replaces the holder of the three balls, Part# 303179000?

It is hard to find that piece.

The TO1 trigger is as good as the TO6 and I like the TO5 and would not change that if I had one...The TO5 has a, I suppose I would say, harder wall but I don't dislike it either.... I have a Mike Melick 2 screw conversion in a B28, and while I am an admirer of Mikes work, I don't see the improvement...All the Diana triggers are good stuff....

Well, the OP's T01 doesn't cock at all, them's the breaks. The balls work admirably, until they don't.
