Think most people who buy “competition” rifles/pistols for shot range never really compete….except for informal or self-competition. Nothing wrong with that, can be as challenging or easy as you want to make it. Just between friends, caliber/power/sighting is whatever you can agree on.
Power is separate….just a bunch of guys shooting at short range, makes no real difference..are testing the shooters ability to shoot, not the ballistics. No real advantage to power, but if your shooting buddies don’t care, fine for informal fun shoots.
Could win a friendly 10 meter M&M off-hand shoot with that Avanti 753 over an expansive PCP by just not making as many mistakes.
Form/function/ergonomics:
Using an airgun for several types of shooting, they stay pretty general in form.
When someone gets serious about one type of shooting, the airguns tend to change form to suit that one main use.
It’s not just “style”. Upper level type competition end up with a form that suits the function. 10 meter off hand rifles share the same features and look like 10- meter rifles….FT rifles tend to collect the same features and look like FT rifles….bench rifles tend to have their own sub-set of features in common.
There is very likely a reason for that.

Did you consider something like a used Air Arms in the S400 or S500 family?
You can just dial the power all the way down for 10m and plinking, but if you want to do something else with it later, (hunting or shooting further out) you can dial it up.
The AA T or S200 or CZ200 are very nice guns, but limited to 12 FPE and they're a pain to refill, as you have to remove the air tube each time.
The Crosman is a target-only gun. Not versatile enough, IMO.

Have one of my two has a fill fitting....I still take it off and fill it from the rear.
Turned out I like safely racking the rifle and just dealing with the air tube.
Do agree that if you need power, an AA200T (or S200) isn't the one. Also agree that if you want to more seriously shoot 10meter off hand, it has some ergonomic limitations.
