I know you are a clicker .  How long does it take you to go from shooting at 30 yards to 50 yards.

Also, aren't you close to max elevation on your Nikon or Leupold's at 50 yards?

About as long as it takes me to walk twenty yards.

Seriously, the biggest issue for me at 50 yards is waiting for a day when I don't have a breeze to fight. I can still shoot good groups at 30 yards with a light breeze as long as it's steady from one direction. Any breeze at 50 yards, though, is a deal breaker when shooting for group size. On those days, I just shoot steel for fun.

As for the scopes, I have plenty of elevation adjustment left at 50 yards, probably because I use low or medium height rings. Running out of elevation has only been an issue when I've had to use high rings.

I always start every session with a scope adjustment group or two, then re-adjust as needed, even when going back and forth between 30 and 50 yards. No big deal. Usually a matter of only 4 or 5 shots. Resetting a scope or peep sight is second nature to me. Goes back to my earliest days of shooting when our shooting coach would give us a good chewing out if we didn't shoot a group to check the zero on the sights before shooting for score each and every shooting session.

And it's a good way to begin a session with springers, anyway, since we all know springers can change their POI mysteriously at times.

Different story back in the days when I was hunting. Then I used hold over and hold under all the time.

It seems that everytime I go to the rangeI need to readjust my zero by about 4-5 clicks.  No ig deal, but I am always surprised that my zero from 4 days ago is no longer the same.
  Once I get back on zero, it stays on zero the entire shooting session.  Soft case?

Yogi, it happens to me all the time with springers when shooting them from a rest and I just take them right from the gun safe and out the door to the backyard range. I think it's just the nature of springers, shooting them from a rest. Not a big deal for my springer shooting, since I'm just shooting targets for fun.

I actually do most of my springer shooting without a rest and I find that they are MUCH more consistent shooting them that way in terms of holding their zero/POI over the course of many shooting sessions. Works for me, since that's my favorite way to shoot air guns. As soon as I even brace one arm against something for added support, though, the springers start to get fussy, again.

When shooting the Sport from a rest, I have a VERY specific routine I follow for each and every shot. It's not quite the same as the routine I use for shooting other springers from a rest, either. Just something I've worked up for the Sport over the course of a lot of Sport shooting.

And I do shoot the Sport without a rest quite a bit. Weight-wise, the scoped Sport with that little Leupold is right at the upper limit of what I can comfortably handle when shooting without a rest. I also have another Sport set up with a Burris Fastfire red dot that gets a lot of use, too.

The weight issue is a biggie for me since I do so much shooting without a rest. It's why I don't shoot my under levers much, anymore

Thanks, Brian. Appreciate it. The new FWB Sport is inherently very accurate. It's my job to get that accuracy out of it and it can be a challenge (headache) some days, thanks to the sharp recoil. The good news about shooting the Sport is that shooting other springers, afterwards, is somewhat tame.
