New Game Camera Video: New Pictures added today!

I hung some chicken legs on my target and on a brick. This is the only video I got. I'm not so sure my camera is working correctly as it isn't really doing videos very well anymore. Maybe time to go looking for a new one. I can make this one the expendable one. That way I can put it in more high risk to being stolen places.
Just a couple more weeks until the season starts! I have my place and Jim's place all ready to go. I found another place squirrel hunting yesterday where the coons were using this logging road as a highway to get to some persimmon trees. I think that one would be good as well.
I'm going to get some of those headlamps like Shadow uses for out at Jim's. He has a major creek that runs through his property. There are TONS of big hollow trees there too along that creek bottom.

Very nice Randy! That video look pretty good to me. What do you think is wrong with it? It's supposed to take longer videos? The picture quality is not bad at all.

I'm not sure if the camera filled up or what. I'm mad because I didn't check. There should have been more video of something else taking the legs. No matter I have more leftovers! I'll put it on still tonight and see how it does.
I'm trying to see what is wrong with my ding donger. Might just be the batteries. If I use it I can setup the "real" night vision camera for some good video. I just don't like leaving the NV camera on for four hours un-supervised.

BTW I ordered some of those headlamps today from Fleabay. Only about $3.50 apiece for LED ones. I need to get some more rechargeable batteries to rotate through them when hunting season starts.

We use a Python lock on our trail cam. It's a bit of a pain in the rump, but does its job well.

Great vid and I'm amazed that the Bandit didn't rip that yardbird leg down.
Yup you will have to stock up on batteries for the headlamp's but they do last a long time in the headlamps. Ed

Good suggestion on the lock! I'm always scared about leaving a hundred plus dollar anything unsecured!
Ed, how long with the batteries last? I ordered LED ones since I know my LED flashlights last longer than my others. Do you do anything special to the straps to get them to hang on the trees and point where you want?
All three chicken legs were gone. I was just upset that the camera didn't catch them being pulled down. Like I said I'll put it on still frame tonight and see if I can catch the action.

I refurbished the Ding Donger by putting new batteries in it. It was already going off like crazy! Three more chicken legs are hanging down there and bound even more tightly. Hopefully I'll have some nice pictures tomorrow!
I may buy a bigger SD memory card for the game camera. I'm guessing that is the problem that it is running out of memory.

I think you hit the nail on the head. The SD card could be getting full.
A big raccon just came and knocked over the chair where I had the cat food on. I can't believe the size of these coons. I had put 2 very large flat rocks on the chair weighing about 13-14lbs the both of them. I stole them from my wife's garden
They are flat decorative stones.. Anyway I had placed the food tray on top of stones on the chair. This keeps the skunks from eating all the cat food at night. They can't reach it, although I had 1 very big skunk hanging from the chair trying to climb up on it, but it kept falling off. It was pretty funny. It tried to get up for at least 15min. Very determined stinker.
The last few raccoons that came were more civil, and just stood on their 2 legs and were easily reaching the cat food and ate without knocking anything down. This one tonight seemed to be a new one. It was a big bruiser without any company. As soon as the ding donger went off I ran to the window to see what's out there. He circled the chair at first a couple of times, then got on his hind legs, took a look at the cat food, and then decided to push the chair over on its back knocking the 13/14+pound rocks over and the food bowl. He then fed for a couple of min. and took off. The Chair weighs a few pounds too, so overall he knocked down the 20lbs like it was nothing.
So that's at least 4 different coons that have come so far. One of them came with a little youngster a few feet behind her hiding behind a tree out of the light. I will try not to shoot its mama
So that's the reason I 'm up at 1am!
PS.
A Duracell 9V battery will last an average of 4 months in the Ding Donger, maybe a little more or a little less depending how "busy" it is. The more it "detects", the less it will last because it has to send a signal every time to the receiver, whether it's on or not.

Jeff
Mine is a Wildgame IR4 I got for Christmas last year. It has been outside for months, been knocked over by critters, etc. I just think it isn't as sensitive to taking pictures like it was before. I'm going to get a new card and change the batteries, but the indicator says the batteries are fully charged.
It may also be that the light on it scares the critters. I may have to put it further back. It has a 30 second delay, so they could be running in and grabbing the chicken legs and then running before the light goes off.
Oh btw, that was the first time in almost a year that I've had to put batteries in the ding donger! It is just the one in the woods that ran out, but I left it downstairs near my computer so it was constantly lighting up and probably drained the batteries.

I'm going to change the location of the camera. For some reason the critters are coming right by it from the back and I'm not getting very many good shots. I also think I can put it further back and get a wider angle.
From the snippets on the camera it looked like I had a possum, a skunk, and several raccoons during the night. I also just realized that all of my really good pictures from last year was when I had the area illuminated. I'm thinking they didn't see that light on the camera because of the outside lights on the house. I'll give that a try tonight too.
This was the best picture from last night. The rest were either blurry or just parts of critters. I've got a new tactic tonight too! I'm going to drill a hole in the chicken leg bones! That way it will take them longer to yank them off and I'll get better pictures.

My lamp batteries have lasted over two week's of being on for 6 to 7hr's a night and 7days a week. I didn't check them one time awhile back and around 11:00pm the light started to go dim on me.
I had to slip out of the hide real quick like and down the trail to change them with back up's that I always carry. Ed

Well the reason my pictures weren't all that good this time was my OWN fault! I left the camera out for two days. Somehow I got the FLU! I've been in bed the most of the last two days. It about wore me out going down to get the camera, but I was curious what might appear.
Here the two raccoons are about to enjoy their chicken leg snacks.
All of the sudden they are GONE! Where did they go?
See the streak of white?
I left the gate open and "Chip the Wonder Dog" goes all coon dog protecting his backyard! I think he even stole a chicken leg from one of the raccoons!
Poor Chip he is slowing down in his old age. I'm thinking it is arthritis. However he stoked the fires up to go off on not one but two raccoons!

I'm feeling a bit better. My Pastor dropped by two straw bales by the house so I toted them down to the bottom land for archery targets! While I was down there I put some leftovers down there and sprinkled some cat food about. I'm hoping the dry cat food will keep them around so I can get some better pictures.
I can't believe that archery deer season is coming up so soon! I probably should get out and shoot my bow huh?

Hope you are doing better Randy. Nice pics. You got plenty of bandits there!
When I first saw that white behind, first thing I thought was that it might be a coyote (although looked kind of small) before I scrolled down to the next pic to see your dog
