HW55 Tyrolean "Ugly Betty" came home with me

 The price here If I remember correctly,
I don't see them so often. Would be half of what they go for in your country.
So like 350 /400 euro's..

I Just remembered , I own a hw 55s.
It's the Same as ugly Betty but without the tirolean stock. It has a normal weiraugh stock but with checkering and  a notch for the little barrel lever.
It was a bargain.a year or so ago I went to buy an air rifle carrying bag and made a joke  to the seller about where the contend of the bag  was.
The guy was mumbling something went in the house and not mutch later he presented me this beaut.
Could not resist asking if he was selling.
Well ok he said, I can see u are aficionado and I Wil sell it to you.
Well ok, I said. but I don't have that kind of money on me, I was just going to buy the rifle bag from you.
No prob he said, I don't want mutch for it.
Just give me 50 euros and its fine.
Are you sure,?, I asked.
Yeah, you seem like a nice person and I'm sure the rifle would be at a better place with you.
Well, I'm going to take good care of it, and Wil shoot it every now and then. I said.
Well ok I said, I Wil take it.
I had some extra  money on me and off I went.
Happy as a clam.

The folks I  have dealt with-buying/selling   cars motorcycles  bicycles guns are VERY different.(the  selling I do is because I have hobbies-no profit motive-once I decide to sell I set a price-usually

a low side price since I want to sell. But many many of my buyers are chislers.

A typical ploy of people I sell it is they will make a deal-agree on price-they will count it out and suspiciously be $3-$5-$9 short-not $20 short but short an amount they figure-correctly-I won't care about!

It happens maybe 1/5 of the time with firearms(price in the $700 plus range)

it is such a common occurrence  it is laughable

The folks you deal with-granted they are sellers-very very different!!

Just to make tings a bit more even.
I've bought some stinkers to, on online marked sites
 I'm not always so lucky.
I Usually buy dirt cheap so I can patch m up a bit with a new part or so and sell m online again if I'm not happy with the rifle for whatever reason.
So no harm done to my wallet and the rifle gets a second life somewhere.

I remember when I first really got into air rifles in the late 80's, early 90's and wanting this type of stock for my diana 38 but I don't think a production one was made, it would have had to be custom. Being a pre teen meant no money so no chance.

I actually completely forgot this type of stock existed until this post. If that's ugly then his beautiful is going to be very expensive!
