RWS 48, cracked stock

Well, after 10,500 pellets, I had to take the 48 down again. Failed to fire using the trigger, so pushed a small screw driver up into the trigger well so it would fire. Appears one of the dog legs to leg spring broke off. Will call today to place an order.
Also, I now have two hairline cracks at the forend running back to the inletting (noticed them before on the forend, before taking it apart), then 2 more cracks at the trigger well inletting. From previous calls to Umarex, the stocks are not available as a part.
Going to use a tried and true method of brass screws inserted, cut, then filed off to finish as the stock repair. I glass bed a lot of rifles too and have the materials on hand, so thinking of using a bit of glass bed on the forearm and trigger well area.
I wonder sometimes why we in America keep producing so many guns and airguns, after all they are durable, but I guess thru damage, loss, confiscation, and such, they do come off the market as a loss.

FYI, talked via phone with Umarex (the usual parts source), but the rep passed me back PA. He asked if something "....." was stamped on the side of the receiver, I said no, it simply has the caliber and date. I told him it was purchased from PA, at which time he was like Oh, they now have the contract for parts, you'll have to go back to PA for the part.
PA responds back, no they don't service parts, but they referred me to a warranty company called Blue Line. I will need to give them a call.
Or, I just take one of my donor 48's apart and control sub the spring.
