DAR rifles regulated?

 I have two early DAR rifles and neither are regulated but on their current website they say they are regulated. Are your DAR rifles regulated?

I'm confused.  The initial product on the market that was sold by Sportsman's Guide in 2018 was regulated.  You have something earlier than that?

For reference, the .25 cal I bought at that time produced the following shot string

Have no memory of them before 2018...guess you’d call it the Gen I now that there is a Gen II. Not sure who imported them, had some QC issues.

Fickle memory has them as being regulated (are definitely regulated now), but if you’ve had yours apart and have no regulator or the signs of one having been there, perhaps not all of them were.

If you haven’t been inside, it’s possible there is a non-working regulator in there.

DAR2:  Regulated yes.  Externally adjustable regulator, no.

I dislike the look. Everyone wants a gun to look like an M4. I used to shoot AR platforms and hated the look. Now I am into airgunning and the only thing people want is the black gun look. So annoying from a consumer standpoint because I would be interested in many guns if they were more streamlined and traditional looking.

We aren’t  real good at documenting the history of less popular PCP’s...only the more popular ones seem to have been well documented.

Haven’t been able to dig up the low down on the first versions that came in as well as I would like.  Does seem like DAR exclusivity now, but not sure it was always that way when these were first introduced (do remember them in Sportsman’s Guide...although do not remember what they were called/marked).

Travis: If you open one up and don’t find any hint of a reg ever being in it….PM me.  No reason other than a memory check.

Jim, my .25 is extremely pellet picky! Hand cast 46gr slugs shot backwards group at 1" at 50y and JSB Diabolo Exact King .25 Cal, 25.39 gr will group 1" at 100y in dead calm, from a lead sled, with a good tune.

No other pellet or slug can do better than 3" at 50y with this gun.

I turned a short tube of 6061-T6 and put ring groves on the ends to bypass the reg (remove the reg and insert tube) for balls-to-the-walls power in my .25 but its soooooooo good right now, I don't have the heart to disassemble it!

I use the old 9x19 almost exclusively, my 14x39 is rarely used nowadays unless I'm turning rotors.

Man that rotors thing  is a lost art.Go to the store now and they just want to sell u some &^^&.You know the lingo , can't turn the rotor. It's good we can still use the lathe for something,EH? Good thing we got into air rifles.
