New FWB Sport trigger adjustment screw

Does anyone know what the adjustment screw fore of the trigger does? I'd guess at 1st stage pull length, but I've been too mardy to mess with it. The 1st stage on mine is very short, so being able to lengthen the pull would be nice.

Sets the tipping point of primary sear and HOW you adjust it.   
Do indeed screw with it !!  makes a huge difference and if the changes it makes don't agree move it back to where it was or another position the other way.  Find a happy medium and there ya go !!

It is your Sport to do as you please and i have no arguement with Motorheads advice. Your particular Sport may need a slight adjustment.
My experience with my Sport,…like many ag makers state in their owners manual, “we recommend you keep the trigger in the factory setting”. Yes I can understand that seems a “lawyerized” statement,..but, with my Sport, I did go about 1/8 to 3/16 of a turn in both directions and did not notice any huge improvement in either direction and eventually set it right back to the factory setting. This was during my “I’m not real crazy about this friggen gun” stage of initial ownership. I made myself shoot my Sport and while not abusive, i found myself cocking the gun with a sharp action, and not babying it along. Over the course of just a couple k pellets, the gun smoothed out surprisingly well. I did slot tune some tar and moly, and did spray a quick burst of Rem-Oil into the trigger group area. Yet over a period of break in, the improvements the rifle made that I didnt really pay attention to at first, was how well the trigger improved with use. At the present time, the trigger on my Sport rivals any one of my Weihrauch reckord triggered springers. And most of them took some adjustment to get them to where I wanted them to be.  So sometimes it may be best to adhere to the manufacturers instructions (leave the adjustment alone) and simply shoot the pizzel out of it. Your mileage and patience may vary 😉. You have a superb spring piston rifle. Give it time and it will come into its own. And yes, you may have to help it along at your own judgement. Best of Luck!!

Well, you both make sense.

I played with the Rekord trigger on my R9 fairly happily, knowing that uncounted thousands had done the same thing. Seeing that almost everyone that owned a Weihrauch had fiddled with the Rekord trigger gave me confidence to do the same. There is virtually no information on the interweb regarding the new Sport, which is what caused my reticence to mess with the trigger screw, and what prompted my question in the first place. I haven't put anywhere near the number of miles on the FWB as I have on the R9, and I have to say it took the R9 a good long while to settle down. I guess I'll throw some more lead down the pipe for a while, and THEN maybe take motorhead's advice.

Oh, BTW tjk, as you know, I do have a brand, spanking new piston seal to fit the Sport sometime or other. One more thing to consider.

Yes, that screw is the first stage adjustment, but it is fine thread, so it takes a lot of adjusting to have an effect. If you adjust it far enough, it will lower the pull via sear engagement. Adjust it too far, and the trigger will not set. On both of my Sports, I adjusted out most of the first stage travel, because that's my preference.
