Just filled my gun, picked out the clothing and got the backpack ready
Planning to get to the valley by 8 tomorrow morning, no point getting there to early since goats take awhile to get going

These are the roots of Banyan trees, the tree is on the top of the ridge and roots come all the way down to the valley floor,
I've seen some in very high cliffs come down for as much as 200 feet, probably more.

I had a great hunt yesterday,
heard goats up on the ridges, not as much as last time but still plenty but never got eyes on them, never made contact.

Will give this place a couple weeks off and next time I will go for an afternoon/evening hunt, also will wait for a day with more wind too.

Sorry, my life is a bit upside down,

Can't shoot. test guns, check zeros,.....no real time to hunt, need to take care of things, have to work more and still not able to make ends meet.
Not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel at the moment, might get a window this weekend but not sure.

one way or an other things will change,
we even considering a move to Europe, the fact that 2 full time working adults are not able to find a place to rent is pretty sad,
we have a few months to think about this, in the meantime this place we are staying I can't even let one round off so it chills everything down

Spent the afternoon/evening in the goat valley and hear absolutely no sound,

I'll go back hunting there at the crack of dawn seems more productive.

Too bad, but not totally unexpected.
Goats will graze over a very large area. They will be here this morning, and 3 miles away by nightfall, nibbling and frolicking all the way along.

Might want to brush up on your tracking skills bro. Or maybe use a drone.

I found a place where they come down to the valley and go up the opposite ridge, next time will go scout up the 2 ridges to see if it's valuable hunting grounds,
but I expect tall, thick Elefant grass and that makes for unhuntable grounds.

Goats love to eat elephant grass, so if that's the case you may just get lucky still, if you stick to the outer perimeter of the tall grass.
Or even better, find out where they drink. Most goats need to drink a good bit of water to help them digest all that roughage, so they don't stray terribly far from a water source. There's a possibility of less brush at the water source.

Yeah I see signs of them eating Elephant grass in the valley where is more green and tender, usually tho one on top of ridges is older and more dry.

Either way I love scouting, big part of hunting for me

Well, one more day in the valley and no contact, not to bad not getting visual but like last time I've heard nothing and this is not a good sign at all since goats especially in the morning are really vocal,

I'm starting to think that they vacated the area and probably somewhere else laughing at me thinking " Boy you should have taken the shot when you had the chance, now dream on "

Still was a great morning in the woods and I actually got to see an Owl,..how cool is that ?
