HW-85 Range Results
«

I just got done shooting the HW85 tonight and it looks like I have a new crown holder in the house! The previous leader was the Walther Parrus with a 5 shot group of .379" . The HW85 just shot a 5 shot group measuring .313". When the scope issues get settled on the Parrus, it's got a tough road ahead to get back on top. Anyways, The HW has new Athlon glass now and has moved up from the 2-7x32 scope that was on it before to the 4-12x40 Athlon Neos. Yes Zack, They are that good.
Thanks for looking.

I could not hold that steady unrested even back when I figured I was a rock solid Hawkeyed 20 year old. Heck I don't think I could hold that steady if I even used a rear bag today. Lol..
Looks like that athlon neos don't rattle.
Good shooting..

Wow that's serious. Almost half MOA at 52 yards with a springer. Wooof! That's gonna be hard to beat.

Thank you Lizzie, Ron, and Deeco. Yes Deeco that Athlon is on the job.
What's pretty amazing is that this happened at the time when I usually do more plinking and pellet testing because the sun is in my eyes and it's far harder to see than my usual group shooting time in the AM. Plus my concentration is wore off for the most part in the evening.
Oh well, it's an anomaly that I am happy happened.
Thanks again Everyone

I would just also like to add that as a testament to Weihrauch weapons, and my gun in particular, This rifle is stone cold stock. No tunes, no tune kits, all I ever did to this gun is place 2 drops of silicone oil down into the compression tube the first couple of days I got it , tightened the stock screws 1 time so far, kept her clean with ballistol oil only, cleaned the barrel 1 time, and shot the tune right into this beautiful gun.
I do love this gun and all of my guns. The funny thing is that this 85 in .177 was supposed to be an HW 95 in .22. Krale had made a mistake on their in stock listing and didn't have a 95 in .22. I asked them what they did have and I chose the 85 in .177 and I sure am glad it worked out like this.
I believe the .17 caliber might have a little better range and trajectory at this power level. Maybe I'll have to look at one in .22 some day and compare. Very high quality rifles this company makes. Works of art.

Amazing group Mike! My HW85 in .22 rattles my teeth like a kick from a donkey. You’ve got really lucky with your .177.

Wow! On my very best day, I can't come anywhere close to that at that range! I've done that on occasion at 25 yds, but 52? No Sir!
Impressive shooting!

Thank you guys for your kind comments. The amazing people on this forum have enlightened me and taught me much and I really appreciate it.
Marty, Mine used to do the exact same thing. To the point that I was seriously considering one of those tune kits. But I did a lot of deep thinking on some of my early spring guns and watched a lot of peoples reviews with the 85/95 platform and I decided to keep shooting the gun for a while longer to see if I can shoot a tune in her. And it turns out that the gun is considerably smoother now compared to the rattler it transformed from.
Much more pleasant to shoot.
Bayman, I ordered the gun on March 11th of this year. So I guess since somewhere towards the end of March I've had it.
