Anybody heard of Vism scopes? I saw these at Walmart.com. Price is nice, but I don't know anything about them. As far as I know they are non-AO. It does say in the description that they are airgun recoil rated, so that's a plus. They have a rangefinder, P4 sniper and Mil-Dot reticle available.

Haven't heard of these, the best thing is if you don't like it or something happens, you can bring it back.

Looks like it doesn't have an AO so I wouldn't be interested....

Looks like maybe a NC Star. Has those long adjusting knobs. Emailed them and asked why there AO scopes are not air gun rated. They replied why do you need it in a air rifle. I dropped the subject.

I would bet these are not airgun rated. They look a little different than most of the better quality stuff you see come out of china, and at that price, my hopes wouldn't be very high... likely no better than a packaged scope.
On the other hand, if it were me several years ago, I'd have bought one just to see and judge for myself. If you can find one in a local store and they let you check it out, you'll be able to do at least the visual tests to see if it is even worth considering...

Update on these Vism scopes: I emailed them and got a reply. The parallax setting is set at 100 yards on the 10X42 models. Unfortunately, probably not a good choice for an airgun, especially if you'd do close in shooting. The guy who emailed me back had in his email signature block "NCStar.com", so I'm willing to bet that's who makes them.

Parallax on a fixed scope can usually be adjusted using the proper tools. So all is not lost with a fixed scope set @ 100 yards.

NCStar told me that they set the scopes at 50 yards almost acceptable if the inner ring can be adjusted. Otherwise I will stick with scope that have AO.
