Benjamin Titan NP/Prowler

Earlier today, I tried an ill-conceived repair on my Benjamin Titan and bent the barrel.  I'm really kicking myself about it.  Is it possible to mount the stock on another airgun?  I saw a couple of older threads here where someone had put a Titan stock on a Prowler.  Any thoughts about how to put the stock from my old Titan NP on a new air gun?  Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

Why not just call Crosman and buy a new barrel?

Here's the part#: B19-7-01-100A (prior to 2012) or B19-7-01-100B (after 2013).

You could straighten your barrel.  Many here bend barrels as a matter of course.  A replacement Crosman barrel is relatively inexpensive.  Generally the stocks interchange freely among the NP models.  That is not to say they will interchange with NPSS, NPXL, or NP2 stocks.  Any B19 series stock should work.

New barrel has me intrigued.  I bent it putting too much pressure on it while trying to compress the piston.  Really want to kick myself.

Yeah, we had a chat. I looked up the general location, it's a bit of a haul. I'm more familiar with central to the southern teir and over to western NY. I haven't been much east of I-81 in many years, basically unknown territory to me

Thanks to all who have replied and reached out!  It is great that this is a really active forum. 

I got the piston and spring replaced.  Now I need to deal with the barrel that I messed up.  I looked at old threads and it looks like folks recommend replacing both the barrel/assembly and the lever assembly.  Does this include the breach seal, jam spring, and alive jam?  Do these come with a new barrel assembly?  Also, I can't seem to find anyone taking the barrel apart online.  Any tips for removing the link pin?  Thanks in advance.

I think a replacement barrel consists of the barrel mounted in the barrel block.  It will likely include no sights, moderator, alive jam, seal, or pin.  Remove these parts from the old barrel.  Order a new pin as I believe you'll destroy it removing it to get the cocking linkage off.  The same holds true for the beartrap linkage.  I forget how it connects at the moment.  If you wish to attempt straightening your barrel you can find instructions for making a tool for the talk in the GTA Library:  https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/library/Charlies%20Barrel%20Tool.pdf

That I honestly don't know. I found that in the past you could find deals on the Nitro Piston guns that were cheaper to buy an entire gun rather than the sum of parts from Crosman. $45-$79 for an entire gun seemed more economical at the time, but can't seem to find deals like that these days.

I'm actually leaning toward a new gun at this point.  I'd love to be able to put the titan stock on it.  It's an NP1 and I'm not sure if the stock will fit a current prowler or crosman vantage.  Are these the two low-end models that I should be looking into?  Thanks.

Hi Jim.

If you put a Crosman Vantage into a Titan stock.. it will fit....BUT you will break the rear sight off when you go to cock it.
You will have to relieve the area of the stock where rear sight is.
I put a Vantage into a Titan stock and learned this the HARD way.

Yes, the Prowler and Vantage are NP(1)  rifles. The only difference to the Titan are stock design and barrel type, as in the newest Prowler (2021?) has a shrouded barrel (aka "silenced") and the Vantage comes with open sights. The older style Prowler (pre-2020) has exactly the same barrel and receiver, but all interchange stocks as the bolt positions are identical. If you plan on just using a scope, just pull the rear sight off, if equipped. A bit easier than relieving the stock. I didn't even think about that. Thanks Tom!

If wanting new, The Vantage is just over $100 currently. Occasionally could be found cheaper, also search around as many times in the past various NP guns could be found cheaper, but even at current prices they're still fair ($125 or less). 

The NP2 platform will not fit, but I've seen some "Nitro Piston Elite" labeled models based on the NP1 and NP2 which makes things confusing. I don't know the reasoning for mixing both with the "Elite" title, aside for adding the SBD/SilencingBarrelDevice (moderator/shroud/silencer). The NP1 had a 25mm piston and NP2 has a 29mm piston, the reciever O.D.'s differ, Just labeling as an Elite makes it harder to identify the platform for newcomers.

Crosman website had a discount code that worked on Friday's, not sure if it's still active or not. Also not sure if much cheaper than other online shopping (amazon for example) as taxes and shipping are added, I believe.
