Me too - not sure what volume plenum you’d need to launch a .357 or .45 with authority through. I will someday combine my airforce tank offset adapter (talon tunes item that can lower the tank, allowing for fatter bottles in this case) and an altaros reg with an extra plenum attachment. If I don’t need that angle adjuster it may not use it but it adds quite a bit more air to the Plenum. The bottle in the picture is just a random .5L 3000 psi aluminum bottle but I’m going to get something different. Any leads on a budget carbon fiber bottle? I don’t understand why these gun CF bottles cost as much as a guppy tank + full assembly. My guess is that it will be heavy and under powered but it’s worth a try. I’ll get to it as soon as I get over being happy that my Max is finally shooting well after many weeks of messing around.
That's why If u remove all the semi auto stuff and make it a bolt action, u get more power. Bcuz air isn't wasted pushing the pellet probe out of the barrel. The probe is locked in.
Well anyway glad you got that sorted out... Has anyone tried just a ronin on a .45 or .50? Does it quit it down any? Might buy one also thinking of buying just the ronin extendeder and making my own baffles. 185 vs $60
For anyone curious, I slugged the 357 barrel. At its widest the slug is about 9.03- 9.04mm and where it was cut in by the rifling it’s around 8.85-8.9 mmDoes anyone following this thread know how I use those numbers to size my projectiles. My guess is you’d want your bullets to be a hair thicker than that larger number so there’s some solid contact with the barrel?
Thanks for the info. I have a .357 sizing bushing and a mold cut to .358, maybe another bushing or two would be a good idea!I’m not sure how much to trust my measurements of the soft lead with the hard calipers but I did my best. My consistency in re-measuring wasn’t great. Also managed to find an oring that fits the breech. I’m not sure it’s the same as the original one. Seems like 11 mm is the outer diameter needed. I tried 11 x 1.5. This works but doesn’t feel like it’s quite as tight as the stock although I’m just going based on memory. It also seems to leak a little bit more air although powers still pretty good.11x2 was too big. Even though it popped in the gap, it was too far by just a hair and I couldn’t quite close the breech, so I sanded down the outer edged and polished the inner edge and now I have a very snug fit, tighter than the stock oring which I think is a good thing. I also ordered a replacement from Bin Tac - I didn’t get an answer as to what the dimensions were but he said he had one on hand and would ship it to me.
