Range on Y axis is much greater I just realized - that will make it look flat

If my calculations are correct, a variation of 60 fps would result in a POI change of approximately 5 inches at 200 yds. A variation of 30 fps would result in a POI change of approximately 2 1/2 inches. Give or take a bit.

I would guess the fluctuations in that range are probably temperature related, the cylinder temperature affects pressure and shooting quickly creates more variation in the cylinder temp.
I ended up turning mine down to 1:00. I have the .25 backpacker in .25 shooting 25.4 grn pellets. I have 30 shots now between 920 and 895. with a highest velocities after about 10 shots. Prior with it turned up I had a straight decline starting around 955. Wayne is shooting slugs in his and I just received some from FX to try. Haaven't tried casting slugs yet but I see it coming. With your velocities and desire to shoot longer ranges slugs would benifit you too. I would think most people who buy these rifles are plinkers or hunters.
Received a DonnyFL adapter but it is a weird one. The bore is oversized (0.5” I think) and as a result none of the ldc’s or adapters I have will work with it. I’m not sure I understand what the point of this adapter is if it doesn’t actually fit standard products. I need an adapter for my adapter.
I shot 3 full magazines (36 rounds, .22 H&N 25 grain slugs) at 50 yds, light wind. This is my best group. Not stellar, not single hole but considering the crappy trigger and sloppy stock it's not horrible. I think if I clean up the trigger some more and get rid of the slop in the stock I can cut the group size in half.

I was going to convert my HP 25 cal semi carbine with the varmint barrel kit, instead for another $150 bought the Challenger LS .22 and glad that I did because it's shooting my cast NOE 218-25-RF slugs extremely well, I've never been into bench shooting but the gun sure makes an excellent hunter, I plan on shooting ground hogs at a distance in the bean fields at the state land that I hunt with it. Also would like to get a coyote in my sights as well.

They probably use the Marauder mags because they can do so without paying anyone for the rights to use the design, and don’t have to shell out for R & D todesign something better.

Well, I sent back the HP Varmint. It seems that the better the weather got the worse the gun would shoot. Bin seems to think there's an issue with the barrel. It had a burr in the crown that I polished out but maybe there was something else I didn't see. Sooo... I sent it back and ordered an AEA Challenger Pro. The biggest thing I didn't like about the Varmint (besides the accuracy going down the tubes) was the bolt and the Challenger Pro is a side lever with lots of power as well as being regulated. Hopefully it shoots lights out.

I'm sure it's much better than the bolt action. I haven't looked at the price difference. Any other differences other than the side lever? Any improvement in the trigger? Keep thinking about getting a varmint for pesting but the Carbine is meeting my accuracy requirements for now.
Got some iron sights and cooked up a sleeve with Picatinny rail that I can print and slide over the end of the shroud. A FedEx driver is out there with my Hp max, supposed to be dropped off some time later today. I am ready… got a bunch of roundball thanks to manny’s tip, an extended shroud with metal cup baffles from Bin Tac and a screw on moderator from Rocker1 that I am printing some 357 baffles for. Ordered several tins of jsb 81ms from trenier a while back but they must have been stolen from my mailbox because I never saw the package. I can order another set of the JSB’s but I just hate spending that much money on pellets it’s like throwing good money after bad I guess and will just have to do some casting. I can order a mold for the price of reordering these on top of the ash order. I’ll see what I can do with round balls and my own bullets though I am sure the accuracy won’t compare well with the JSBs.
