Yeah but cannot load and leave an open spot to get the mag in the gun without a round in the breech and cannot just take the mag out and top it off you need to empty them and start all over again.

Agreed.... You can do that with the Airacuda?

Not only I had issues with a bunch of them in my Marauders and the one AEA, but they Have a stupid system to load them ( all or nothing ) they rattle and they look plain ugly in the gun

My personal experiences include a measure of preference as well. I make decisions based on preference all day long because of the outcome I desire and the end results others demand. If there is a stronger motivator, I am unaware of it personally. There's room at the table for us all, potato-potato.

It's a simple fix.  Take your Evanix magazines and have a machine shop fit them to your rifles.   I didn't like my single shot KAM P12, so I modified it to hold Gauntlet magazines.  Yeah, I know you don't like them.

What style magazines do the Aircuda use?  Still waiting on that answer.

Man I feel like a broken record but the HP max has me grinning like an idiot every time I use it. The “power wheel” on the back had enabled me to do some quieter garage shooting at 40-60 fpe.


I am wondering about finding some weights to add to the hammer at some point just to add another way to tune. Seems like i should be able to find nuts or washers  that would fit t behind the hammer. 


 I 3d printed some cylinders of different lengths that can just be dropped into the hollow of the spring retaining nut or whatever you call the stump on the back.  Didn’t feel like hunting for the right washers.    I won’t have any data on power until I get the moderator in place, which should be in just a couple of days.

Maybe time to move on from all these magazine opinions back and forth?  What are we accomplishing here?  Some like them some don’t.

Does anyone else who actually has one of these guns have plans to be doing any work on it or have anything to add to the discussion? 

I will be happy to share the stl files for my simple 3D printed add ons (single shot tray, hammer booster, surround for gauge and fill probe).

price is Phenomenal,
styling of the guns is very nice,
great variety,
many model are very modular,

Sure seems like you were wanting one in your first post and others that I have read in this thread and others. 

Yeah the price is phenomenal because they use magazines that you don't like.  Simple and cost effective.  Can't have Cadillac features at Vega prices.

Still would like to know what type of magazines are in the Aircuda that you are raving about?

I'm sure CARM will make some magazines for these AEA guns, they make magazines for many of the Marauder style magazine guns.

What I would love to see would be a longer barrel to swap out for the short one - this gun has airforce like simplicity and having a couple of barrels to swap along with springs and hammers - it would be fantastic I imagine for someone who didn’t mind the longer form.

For me, the stubby nature of the gun is something I specifically was seeking but it would be nice to be able to quickly change from pistol/carbine to a longer gun.

There's definitely more power left on the table using that stubby barrel. I suspect they didn't want to step on the toes of the Challenger Big 9. One of these could end up in my stable with multiple length barrels available.

One thing I was wondering about was polishing maybe contouring some of the edges in the airflow path. I guess that would be the holes through which the air flows… from the tube and through the openings in the barrel itself.  Waste of time?

From my AEA varmint mods thread…I made my hst externally adjustable and still retained the guide rod.

I threaded the inside of rear plug. Made a threaded plunger. Drilled it and cut grooves lengthwise it’s id. Cross drilled the guide rod for a small pin and cut a screwdriver slot in the end of the guide rod.

You can access the screwdriver slot from back of plug.

Hard to see some of the details in this picture but I’m not home right now to get better pics.

That’s awesome - wish I had the ability to do what you did there.  Since I am not using the stock, I can just turn the whole thing as far in/out as I want and lock it with the ring by hand.
