Save you money.  Many of you already have an airgun that will kill a Buffalo.

A airgun firing arrows, like a shortened Bulldog, to get the correct barrel length, or a AF Texan, a 45 or 50 Seneca would kill anything that walks, anywhere.

If AV ever makes arrow again.

My REX Mini-Carbines will kill anything and some shooting arrows.

Air bolt nocks are only $10 for 6 at PA and they have them in 357, .45 etc. With those you can turn a regular 2219 aluminum arrow into an air bolt

No problem. Simple solution for a .357 airbolt on a budget:

2219 aluminum arrow or crossbow bolts. Remove nock. Replace nock with:
5 x 9mm rubber table top bumpers/rubber plug. 5mm end goes into 2219 arrow nock end with at most a small bit shaved off. 9mm end is the rear seal. $7 for 50 pc set.



For grins, even though a 2219 arrow is almost 35 cal already, you can pop a rubber grommet over the arrow at the end of the barrel to ensure all is perfectly straight. $14 for a 210 pc set

 


That same method can, I am sure with a little bit of looking on Amazon, be transposed to .45 and .50 cal easily.

From the looks of it the .357 Airbolts have been re-designed and back in production,

Now it's just a matter of time before they get to the store like .45 and .50 nothing is in stock at the moment but things will get moving eventually just like for pellets.

I just ordered some of those rubber bumpers off Amazon. They should be here Wednesday, which is cool since I am off Wednesday and I have a huge high powered crossbow/archery target sitting in my front yard. I may just have to see if this will actually work in a real world scenario, and how the power and accuracy turns out. After just watching a YouTube video of a guy with a Benji Bulldog shooting his own home made air bolts successfully with nocks made of hot glue I have the feeling it will work just fine through my Challenger.

What is it that we are looking at here? Did they ship a threaded 2/3rd piece of barrel or are you trying to point out the rifling, what context are you trying to convey?

use blunts rather then field points if you decide to have some ply behind your target

I know that the older Xtreme Big bores have taken down Cape buffalo before, those were comparable to the Zeus and were a little more costly but not much.

When you are getting into this all out big bore territory .40 and larger spending around 1500 bucks or more I am going XP air guns they are made much better than extreme or AEA for that matter , since I now have both AEA and XP I can really compare the 2 ,and it's not hard to see , and feel why XP is better after shooting the guns side by side ....

I was a bit amused at the guy having to hammer his arrow out of the plywood with a piece of lumber. His choice of target was poor but he did manage to come up with a way to get his arrows out of his Bulldog at speed so I think he was fairly successful

What is the cost difference between AEA and XP?
I ask because the AEA line is a nice choice for budget buyers.
Granted I could have several FX or higher quality Guns by now but decided to slowly work my way up the ladder.
That is a personal choice on my part. I figure I can't give a good response if I jump from a low cost Gun to the very best out there.
I don't want to brag about a high dollar Gun I have compared to the Hatsans or AEA line if I skip them.
Can I afford the best out there? Not need to know information.

What is the thinnest Legacys you can buy ?

I'm shooting 2117 and they seem to thick for a .357 barrel,
maybe 2020 ? ..still have a good spine.
