Got my .22 Marauder today! Questions for those who have one! Impressions!

Mine likes the CP Domed 14.3 gr pellets best so far and I have tried a bunch of them.
Leave pressure in the gun unless you are going to work on the valve or air tube. Mine has been over 2000psi since I got it back in the spring.
You asked about pressure change and I will tell you that it can and will change. I friend and I went shooting a while back and he filled his rifle not the M Rod but a B-50 and let it set for a while before he went to shoot it and when he did it sputtered a pellet out at about 300 fps. Shot it a few more times with the same results and finally we decided that the rifle was valve locked so shot it about 25 times with no pellet and the report started to sound normal then went ahead and shot and all was well. Now that rifle was filled to 2800 psi before setting out in the sun and the pressure climbed high enough to cause the rifle to have a partial valve lock. There is no gage on the B-50 so don't know how high the pressure went but it had to be up above what is recommended for the rifle.

I agree with aack- I've lost 200psi quickly if I filled too fast-if gauge hasn't moved overnight then most likely is not leaking- as far as tuning I just meant trying to get the highest shot count based on your speed/power/accuracy requirements-but for now ,enjoy!!Here's a teaser with my.22

Do you have a velocity and fill pressure for the baracudas?

I haven't bought a chrony yet, so no velocities. It's still stock settings and I fill to 2900. Here's a thread with some of my .22 Marauder pellet testing.

Since ur hunting that mrod has the power to take down things much larger then a dove..

Try a tin of the predator polymags I think anyone will agree that they are by far the best hunting pellet if ur gun like them

Predators won't fit the magazine unless you do the mod for them or single load. also try Kodiaks or H&N Barracuda

Well, doves are tasty.... but I am waiting for my local groundhog to show his face. He is the MOST ELUSIVE groundhog ever. He's so "dang" skittish. I look out the window and he runs away. Grrrrrr.....

I own the Marauder Rifle (22cal and .17 cal barrel), Challenger Target Rifle, and Marauder Pistol with Shoulder stock. The Marauder Pistol is by far the funnist to shoot. If you could only afford one, buy the pistol.

the last time i shot mine was 3 wks ago and still at 2800. as for pellets ive playing with a few and havnt decided on the best yet but have shot wally cphp and a few hn ftt and they both do well. i lso have mine cranked way down for shot count and get 30+ good shots out of it.

Just out of curiosity, what is the mod to get Preds to work in a MRod magazine? They shoot great in every gun i've tried them in so far.

So, I got a bunch of pellets to try... here are the basic result estimates (I don't have a chrony, nor did I bother to measure the groups accurately since it was so obvious):

CPHP: 1.5" groups at 25 yards -
Crosman Ultra Mag domed - 1.5" groups at 25 yards -
Air Arms Diablo Field Plus - 1.5" groups at 25 yards -
JSB Diablo Extra Heavy - 1.5" groups at 25 yards -

See the trend? I was starting to think my gun sucked.... but then.... I tried the last type of pellets I had...

H&N Barracuda Match - First group of 5 got me one ragged hole @ 25 yards with one flyer about 1/2" off. Thank goodness I found pellets that group well in my Marauder. WHOOPEE!!!!

Just a refinish. I just about have the first rough sanding done. WHEW! That's a lot of elbow grease!

I am thinking maybe doing the wood blond. I did cherry when I refinished my Titan GP stock. Who knows... I'll post pics soon.

My Marauder likes the Crosman premier ultra magnums...the cheap domes in the tin.  With its factory tune, its sweet spot is between 2500 psi and 1900psi, and spits em out at an average of 908 fps.  I leave about 1900 psi in it all the time...no pressure loss over a month.  She still shoots perfect Joe!
