Some Thoughts on My 392s

Also ordered a couple #64 peep sights, they will be back up sights if the scope should fall off and fall into the river :-)

I also received my 24 gr .2193 slugs from AVS. According to my mic I'm at .2192 ---- pretty darn close
Will test for groups tomorrow at 17.5 yards. At that range I can get an idea of how these will shoot in my gun, so far slugs have been a real bust :-  )

yep.... rubber mallet and a block of wood. Put the wood against the muzzle end of the sight and knock it down towards the breech with the butt of the gun on the floor. Watch to make sure it is slipping off the plastic spacers. The rubber mallet is to protect the barrel in case you accidentally tag it.... EZ PZ.

Oops, I have been SUPER busy at work getting our new product line out, it hase been crazy... i will do it Saturday for sure ;-  )

Just thinking out loud (on this here forum apparently) but there were folks couldn't get down low enough for the peeps, and after looking through the open sights of my own 392S, I'm wondering if anyone's tried shaving down that high synthetic cheek rise? Like is it hollow immediately underneath or how is the wall thickness?

Put .2193 slug in the muzzle of the barrel and it did not go in and I stopped immediately, I was afraid to push the slug in from the breach end at that time. I MAY try it a little later today if I can. If I do have trouble with it going in I will stop and remove. I don't want to force anything for sure !! getting the correct slug size with the Benji has been a pain.

I slugged my 392 bore the other day. Well, I say slugged, but used a pellet with oversized skirt at .222, so the only thing that had to size down was the soft skirt.
Pushed it through from muzzle to breach with a plastic coated coat hanger and got .2195” groove dia. measured with a dial caliper, which is’nt as precise as a micrometer.

The only reason the pellet went through easily was because of the soft hollow skirt... hardly any resistance at all.
The lands were at .217” best I could tell with the dial calipers.
That WOULD make a .2192” solid slug seem a tight fit just because of the .217” lands, but still would’nt quite fill the .2195” groove on mine.

Why do you want to shoot slugs with this gun?  Seems to me with slugs you'll have more drag in the barrel, and a slower projectile as a result.
Why not just go with heavy pellets?
