Beeman Chief II Synthetic PCP 22cal

See the form for 177 but I have the 22. love it    3K fill pressure, 2 mags, 11mm dovetail for scope, sling attachment spots. not too pellet picky, 6.8 lbs, $179. Going to order it in 177 when they come back in stock. However, any of you shooters moded the 22 yet, or played with the hammer spring to get the shot count up? I shoot 2 mags and am down to 2k, with plenty of power. Just want a higher shot count, maybe 3 mags. Also, the hammer spring is so tight it causes a double feed every now and then when cocking. As have read through other sights this is a similar problem with the 22cal. Last but not least, why don't beeman post a breakdown or parts list for their PCP's or better yet where can I find one at?

I think for the price, it's great.

I like the fact that it's got iron sights and it's a PCP.

If I were to get one, I'd get it in .177 cal. I got enough .22 cal. lol

I have the 177 cal as I have posted.

I assume u have a chronograph( very  very important)

My hammer spring is around 5 complete turns down  --- shooting Seneca Fomes above 810 gor ~ 25+ shots.

Once it hits 2000 psi I fill. If I was shooting 10.6gr Kodiaks my shot count would be much higher as my hammer spring would be turned down maybe another turn.

These are great guns especially for the $

Mine has developed a slight leak in the fill port.  Pretty sure it’s a super easy fix. One tiny o ring behind the foster fitting.

Great gun but if I had to get rid of one of my guns  ( only have 2) it would be the chief and I’d keep my urban. Absolutely love that gun.

I had that once on my gen 1 Chief, just put a drop or two of silicone oil in fill port and fill the gun up. I have not had an issue since and it has been a couple of years now.

A little silicone oil goes a long every few fills add a drop.

When I’ve seen these fail in some cases it was from a lot of moisture in the air.

For those running the oil and waterless compressors I’d be mindful of additional filters.

Two I’ve seen if you fill a rifle, unhook it and start up compressor with nothing attached you’ll see the water.  That cigarette filter ain’t enough, unless you live in the desert, maybe.

I thought about the water thing as I hand pump either only the small filter. I ordered the air Venturi separator from PA and it is arriving today. Hopefully adding that will dry it out.

Excellent! Glad to hear it worked for you too. I haven't had another issue with the rifle and I have had it for nearly 3 years now. Put it away with 1800 psi and can be months later and still will have 1800 psi.
