Oldschool Crosman triggers vs newer stuff...

I've wondered why there doesn't appear to be any discussion of the merits of the older Crosman 160 style triggers vs the newer style triggers? If it's good enough for a QB or Gauntlet, (and it's good enough), why has Crosman shunned it?

If it's too expensive, how do the Chinese mfg's manage to do it? And compared to a 2240 custom shop gun, it's a world of difference. And not in Crosman;s favor.

I agree, the trigger is the biggest deficiency of the Fortitude, Maximus, and Discovery class of guns.  The cheapo direct sear on the 2240 and 1377 class of guns makes sense but it’s not competitive among the current crop of value PCPs.

I have been commenting on the Old 160 Var III for years, it is one fine example of ingenuity.

 But I think the above statements are correct. It is less expensive to manufacture the newer style so the profit margin is higher.

Yes sir, I agree on that point.

It’s also true that the profit margin is 0 when the informed customer chooses Brand B.

They were a million times better, but not cost effective these days.
I don't think Crosman cares about the folks like me or you who have interest in the classic guns that were actually good anyways.
All they want to do is force ugly modern looking junk down our throats.

If they did they'd have parts and most of all they'd stop taking what good looking classic models they have and making them look like garbage.
The bones are still there, but we have to spend a bunch of extra money to make them actually look good and it's annoying.
