Hello all,

Situation - I plan to call Crossman today with hopes of ordering a LW Marauder .22 barrel. I would like you help/ assistance with locating a part number for a LW barrel.

Background - I have a 2014 model Benjamin Marauder Synthetic .22 (model# 2264S). It was during this time period that the barrels conking from Crossman were not all that great. The rifle was tuned and tinkered with until ammo prices fell then I switched back to firearms and it has sat for a few years. With the recent increase in ammo prices I have switched back to air rifles for practice. I just purchased and installed a full regulated Hill Airgun kit and am far more than impressed. I’m pushing JSB 15.89gr pellets at 890fps for 74 shots. The only thing left to gain is accuracy. About 2.5in at 40yds with multiple pellets is the best I can achieve. Scope is securely mounted, off of a bipod and rear squeeze bag, no wind. A few years ago I should have purchased a MMHF barrel or any of the other options but I did not...and they are no longer an option.

I now understand the Crossman barrels of these days are far better than past. Something to do with a NASA engineer. My research finds that a replacement .22 Marauder Barrel is part number (2264-001).
Does anyone know if I order this part number, if it will be one of the newly manufactured barrels, with better quality and accuracy?

My research also shows that the Marauder that comes with a factory LW barrel is model number (2264LW). I can not find a schematic for that rifle, does anyone have any information that could help me locate a part number for that barrel to order?

You will find the new crossman marauder 22 barrels shoot amazing. Crossman is making them in house.

You could phone them and try to order by quoting the part number anyway...

Today may just be my luckiest of days!

I called Crossman and experienced great customer service as always have with them on the phone. Ordered a few parts I was in need of. Then stated how I was having a hard time finding a schematic for a BP2264LS (LW equipped Marauder .22), which is nothing but the honest truth. Within a few moments he helped locate the barrel reference and order is placed. Unaware of part number but it was about $96. Totally worth it I feel.

$96 for a purpose machined LW barrel sound like a heck of a good deal!

Pyramydair difference for .22 marauder with crosman barrel and LW barrel is about $80.. I was going to order a LW barrel for my .22 Marauder and was advised by a couple GTA members that the accuracy was not all that different between the two. Anyway, I went a different route with that advise and ordered two of Crosman .22 barrels to keep the one out of three that grouped the Crosman Walmart pellets the best. Maybe I got lucky but got a keeper barrel that is capable of grouping CPH about 1/2" at 50 yrds (yes a few 1.5" flyers now and again) but even hole on hole regularly. Didn't try other pellets cause cheapo shooting was the objective. Anyway, the Crosman barrels were under $40 each so instead of finding a pellet for the barrel, I found the barrel for the pellet...lol Good luck with the LW and when you get it, let us know how it compares..

I’m glad your Crossman barrels worked out great for you. However my original problem was the older Crossman .22 barrels and their less than desirable accuracy/ repeatability. So placed in the boat of seeking a new barrel with Crossmans updated barrel making practices, I’m glad I spent the $96 on a drop in ready LW vs spending $40 on a Crossman barrel and hoping it’s a shooter. I’ll update with results ASAP.

Crosman bought all new barrel machining equipment in mid 2018, along with bringing the .25 machining in-house from Green Mountain, and a new overseeing engineer. That brought the .22 back up to snuff, from real accounts by shooters, but don't blame you one bit stepping up to a LW barrel anyway.

So a new loop in the plan I was not expecting. I placed my original order for the .22 Marauder LW barrel along with 3 breech o rings. For the 3 breech o ring I used the standard marauder schematic which listed part number (1761A023). Some more research reveals quite a few of the factory LW components are listed at (MR-***) part numbers. A vague schematic I found here on the forum states a .22 match breech o ring assembly is part (MR-006).

Does anyone have experience in the Crossman LW vs standard barrels enough to know if they really require a different breech o ring?
If my thought process is correct, the bolt OD is the same diameter, so as long as it seals off to the bolt and isn’t too loose inside the breech it should work correct?

Don't know what might be different about O-rings or O-ting grooves in the barrel. But, I agree that if the bolt used is the same, then the effective seal at either O-ring should be functionally similar.

F. Y. I. Don't overtighten the two set screws that hold the barrel in the receiver, and don't overtighten the shroud mount set screw. Don't ask me how I know this.

To update all,

Since this is slightly undocumented territory, not too many cases have been shared of calling Crosman and ordering a LW marauder barrel. And since the schematics for these LW builds are apparently undiscoverable...

I have learned that the breaches, barrels and specific components all start with part number (MR-***)
The barrels use the same breeches and breach orings as a regular marauder for that caliber.
To upgrade to a .22 picatiny style breech is $49.

Will document more as parts arrive and upgrade is complete.

Crosman's part prices seem quite reasonable. I am sure that is one reason why their airguns are so popular.

It looks like mountainaircustomairguns.com may be an option for LW or a hammer forged drop-in. You may give them a call. I don't know anything about them.

Thank you. But at $235 for a MAC LW .22 vs $96 for a Crosman LW .22. I think I’ll try the Crosman first. Both drop in ready.

I have a sweet .177 LW barrel from Roy at Mountain air. But I actually have 2 of the Crosman LW barrels. I have one on a marauder and one on a fortitude. Both very accurate.
