I assume you are talking about "modifying" (modding) not "tuning".... I know there are no actually standards for such things, but polishing the hammer or sears and deburring I would consider "tuning".... ie making the gun work the best it can.... known in engine circles as "blueprinting".... Changing things beyond what the manufacturer intended (ie a different hammer spring, porting, boring out the valve, etc.etc) I would consider "modding".... While it is very common to "mod" a Disco, I have not as yet seen published data about the same being done to an MRod....
They aren't allowed into Canada because of the shroud, so I won't be doing one, unfortunately.... however, I can tell you the first place I would look.... The exhaust port on the valve is smaller than that on a Disco!.... presumably because it is designed for 3000 psi operation instead of 2000.... Increasing port sizes tends to increase power while lowering the pressure where the highest velocity is achieved.... Just as the PRod is choked up to restrict velocity and increase shot count.... I am thinking that the same is true of the MRod.... Strange we haven't seen that exploited yet.... as least I certainly haven't....

I ran across this in the GTA Library. I haven't read it yet, but it may be of some use to you.

Not a lot to gain. It already shoots really accurate, great shot count depending on how it's adjusted, and like u said best trigger for the dollar. That hammer is already got a great finish for sliding in that tube. Maybe deburr if any in the tube. Set trigger to your preference, adjust power to your liking with nice velocity curve for edfiency and sling lead.
You can just remove that spring in the trigger and put a small spacer if u like. It's there to give the trigger a heavier pull therefore safer for most. You can't get a light pull with it. If you desire a trigger pull below 2lbs remove it. I will also state for safety reasons u should test that trigger not to bump fire.
