"Oldish" small scope

I had forgotten I had this until today, and I put it on my AM77 to try it out. I picked this up in a pawn shop a couple of months ago for $8, and I bought it for three reasons- it's small, it has an unusual mounting system, and it's made in Japan. I had put it on a shelf still in the bag, and forgot that I put it there.
Anyway, it's not a valuable scope, but it appears to be in good working order, is the right size for the rifle, has much clearer glass than the new similar scopes, and if it holds a zero, it will be well worth the money spent.
I think it was probably made in the 70's, and was a cheap brand sold by Kmart stores- All Pro.

Does it say what kind of scope it is? The old Crosman scopes that I used to have (I really don't know where they went.) were made in Japan... They were easier, at least for me, to zero in, unlike the new stuff and had more metal on them...
Do those 2 scope rings just look like there's 4 of them?

The brand is All Pro, and it was made for Kmart stores to sell. It doesn't have "rings", but an odd curved metal piece that both holds the scope and grips the rail. I'll try to get a better photo tomorrow if you want to see it really close-up. I've never seen a scope mounting system like it.

Thanks lizzie.. I'd be interesting to see how those things work... Kmart huh? I miss the old Kmart they sold all kinds of sporting goods and almost everything, even tropical fish... Ours used to even have a deli in the center and they served the best ham sandwiches ever...
Sorry, the mention of Kmart and vintage brings back memories.... LOL

I really like that little scope. It's holding well, easy to adjust, and easy to put on the rail, and has a much better "picture" than the new cheapies that come with the 77's and similar guns. It's also perfect for the size of the AM77.

On a scope that small, you can't beat Japanese optics. Probably clearer than a cheap 32mm.

For the price and quality, I think you're right. I've recently picked up a couple of older Japanese binoculars that are so far superior to the stuff you can buy at sporting goods stores in the hundred dollar range. I use binocs alot in my birdwatching, and I've gone through several pairs of lower-end binocs in the past few years. I'm hoping that these older Japanese models will outlast them, because I can't bring myself to spend the chunk of cash on Steiners or Swarovskis for backyard bird-watching.
