any luck with cast pellet molds?

Check out Wayne's results in the Cast Boolit Gate.... amazing quality.... I haven't tried a lot of the sizes, but I found the NOE Hunter Magnums in .35 cal shot better than the 81 gr. JSBs.... with a better BC to boot....

I have a good collection of NOE pellet molds, .30, .25 .22, heavies lights and wadcutters, once one figures out what temp they like to be cast at, they are amazing pellets, only pellets I buy now days are .177 and .20.

the 34g Magnum .25 are a solid .75" at 50 yards round out of my .25 Mrod that has leade work thru initial testing... I do think I can do better... that was just with a visual sort... this year will do some further work on alloy and temps and do weight sorting... This rifle did not like Benji domed before the leade work...is only choked to about .2493 groove at muzzle..

My other .25 Mrod did not have leade work at the time and did not like them or the Benji domed... This Mrod has a tighter choke also at about .2488... will be testing in it soon as things warm up...

I am happy with the .30 cal mold when shooting them out of the 700mm STX liner.  No problem popping dried tangerines at 75 yards with them.  Groups are just slightly off from the JSB 44.75gr at 52 yards, which is really good for cast, IMHO.

I just received the .25 cal mold...No clue yet.

I say well worth the effort if you enjoy casting and you shoot a lot.

I also have various .25 cal molds. The hunter mold is my best. I usually setup to cast on the two heavier pins in mine. I have the magnum mold, but have not had much luck thus far with it.. it shot guns pretty bad. I have the .249-rf slug mold that does ok, but would like to get NOE to open the hole to .250-.251" in its drop diameter so I can get better results with roundness issues. the 41 gr boattail mold runs decently for me as well.

Travis I haven't bought any pellets in well over three years now, I've shot many critters at very long distances with them, one of my better shots is a 70 yard crow in the woods, many red squirrel shots at 50+ yards.  In my opinion they're right up there with the JSB's if one does a good job casting them.  I have had excellent luck with them but I do always use pure lead for casting and hand cast them all with just the ladle and pot like they've been doing for muzzle loaders for years.  That's how I got hooked on casting my own was shooting muzzle loaders.

I have noe 30 and 357 cal pellet molds. Both very accurate. 30 shot from fx impact at 980 fps do very well at higher speeds, vs jsb. The 357 are very accurate from my texan as.

Dont really shoot pellets anymore, but I had a green mountain barrel in .25 that would put kings in less than a half inch at 50 yards. NOE hunters in the 27ish grain range would do about .75-1.00 inch. It was a first gen mold and dropped a little undersized and long. The newer molds should be a little bit better than that.

Don't know if OP was just interested in pellets or also slugs or bullet types.  I see casting as a way to reuse lead and not have to constantly order tins.  I am no marksman but I enjoy casting and the slugs work well for me. I have a .25 mold from MP Molds which is a really nicely made mold.  I also have two NOE Airgun slug molds for 50 and 60 grain.   It seems very easy to do, get very nice slugs as long as I warm things up enough.  Very very simple to do and a great way to restock

Bought a Noe 20 gr. mold in 22 cal. awhile back
.it’s the first brass mold i’ve ever cast with.
Wayne’s method of pressure pouring from a ladle has been the key with this one.

I was shooting half inch and better groups at 20 yds. from the bench right off, but kept having finning problems and release of the pellets from the pins.

A couple of days ago, I polished the pins a bit and adjusted the spruce plate a bit tighter than I usually do with an al. mold... made all the difference in the world.

Now i’m Avg.. 3/8” c/c and a bit better at 20 yds. with my crosman summit ranger and my 392 steroid!!!
No finning and great sprue cuts.

Can’t wait to try them at 50 yds. now.
Btw, these pellets were made from stick on wheel weights.

Before I did my last casting session with that mold I also cleaned up the pins (they were getting lead buildup) after cleaning them up I did polish them with steel wool on my drill press.  The results were phenomenal to say the least and they're casting excellent.  The biggest problem with this mold is filling out the skirts because of such a small sprue plate hole but them are the breaks when it comes to casting a wad cutter because of the head on them being so thin.  Other than that I'm REALLY happy with these wad cutters, especially shooting from my vintage pistols.  I save a lot of money casting my own pellets and slugs.
