My New Custom Mrod Stock Updated with Green MRod Stock Pictures

Just installed my new stock fresh from Norm's shop (
Norm_m
). We went with an ebony stain at my request and Norm was very accommodating. After a few email exchanges we had the tint we wanted. In addition to the color, Norm has taken a few inches off of the length and has eliminated the right cheek making this a righty's weapon. I'm sure this won't help me shoot any straighter, but when I miss, I'll look cool doing it.
Thanks Norm!

Nice finish Norm. Sure do like the natural grain better than the Mystery coating that come on them. I hear there's a new company in China. Everything they produce is a mystery! Mystery oil, mystery paint, etc.....

A green one is in the process as we speak. It has had 3" cut off the end and in the process of sanding. It taskes a good amount of time to sand away the check piece on the right side but by going slow and being carefull is well worth the results. Hope it will be getting stained on Sunday and be completed by the middle to the end of the coming week. It may already be spoken for but pictures will be posted and I have a second one I will start work on once the green one is completed. The second one will be done in black like the one this post is about but if someone sees the green one and would like it please contact me and maybe we can work something out.

Here are some pictures of a MRod stock died in green and finished with 7 coats of Tru Oil. I left it in high gloss but it would be a simple buff it with 00000 steel wool to get a satin finish. This stock is already sold but I have another MRod stock I will customizing in the next day or two and if anyone is is interested in a green or black custom MRod stock please PM me before Tuesday as I will be staining it that day.

Norm, would it be possible for you to weigh the stock before and after refinishing to determine how much weight is saved by reworking the stock?
thanks,
joe
