When it's a Kratos!

Ordered a Cayden from Crosman about a week ago and this morning I received a Kratos...

The nice CS lady said it would cost about the same or more for return shipping on this gun, plus the additional new shipping charges to re-send a Cayden to me, so she gave me the option to just keep it.

What would you do in my place?

Given the option from Crosman I would keep it unless you really wanted the Cayden. I like my kral puncher nemmisas and they are the same to a point.

Another $100 discount is nothing to sneeze at! Unless you really had your heart set on the Cayden, I'd thank the nice lady and start burning through pellets! The other plus of the Kratos is the ability to upgrade to a Carbon Fiber tank later on to reduce weight, if so inclined. I'd say you won the air gun lottery on this one!

I agree with Paul, if you have a fill source I would run with it. Bottle=more shots!

Did not even consider getting more shots per fill, what is it like, 480cc on this gun vs 280cc on the Cayden?

Yup I'm sold for now, just watched a Youtube review and they are getting 60 shots (5 mags full) on the highest power knob setting before the fps drops below 880...starts at 930 fps(!!!) and stays up there in the low 900's for a couple of magazines using FX 18.1 grainers.

This gun may be different somehow from the Akela or Cayden; there must be a reason they only offer the Kratos in .25 caliber.

Yes, that was what I was referring to, that ONLY the Kratos can be had in .25 ... and my question was - why?

What is there that's different about the Kratos that only it can be offered in .25 caliber (yes I know it comes in .22, I have one)? Since it seems to shoot the same 18.1-grain .22 ammo at higher velocities than either the Cayden or Akela, does it have a larger valve, or heavier hammer/spring, or...??

Yes Matt you're most likely right, that does make total sense now that i think about air capacity. With .25 ammo I'm sure the power knob would be set higher more often than not, so the more air the better. Thanks!

With my .22 kral I have it set just under max to plink at 70-115 yards so yes i would assume it needs to be wide full open for 25. At that max in was seeing near 1000fps with 18g jsb on the next has mark down still high 800 low 900. I attribute the max power at 100y to velocity vs drop I was plinking 10 12 inch targets so nothing to write home about. When you are at Jeff's house it's not about tight groups it's about fun.
