New CO² temp shooting record -17°F, -35°F wind chill

Ok. The title is sort of click bait. This was this morning from my all-season indoor/outdoor 25 yd permanent, outdoor, metal targets; sitting indoors, shooting thru my cranked out casement window at my 25 yd range.

Still, it's a new temp record for me hitting outdoor targets; -35°F wind chill with a .177 Hammerli 850 CO² rifle. 🙂

I even did a little shooting during yesterday's snow storm.

Nice update !

Though you were shooting inside out, did you noticed any shifting POI due temperature impact, since you were shooting CO2 ?

Marc, it was 10* outside yesterday morning, but shooting the monthly match indoors at Camp Perry it was a balmy 70*. We still had a good time !

Do you have room to shoot indoors?  I have a cardboard box filled with rubber mulch that I use for a pellet trap so I can shoot indoors - my range is from the living room, down the hallway and into the bedroom. Easy to shoot 10M, and it doesn't matter what the weather is like outside.

Yes, fortunately, I have a steel pellet trap that will take all non-magnum pistol rounds and has a snail drum catch for the lead. I have a 10m distance measured off today for the informal match and a 20m place on the TV stand in the living room and I can go 30m if I am willing to tick my wife off and disturb her hobby desk! 




PS- that is paper on the bottom plate, the lead all ends up in the trap.

Just in contrast....today I had to cut  the grass.  Maybe will see the first official freeze in 3 years sometime early next week.
