AUO Moderator Review

I was contacted by Mrbulk (Charlie) to do a review on an LDC  and I accepted the invite. It is in his words an AUO, Airgun Use Only suppressor. It’s made from aluminum and inside 3D baffle with 1/2 20 threading. It is one of many of Charlie’s LDC’s he has been reviewing. It is very light and the single 3D printed baffle is also light. It is about the same size as a DonnyFL KOI. I ordered a 1/2 20 adapter for my PRod for my testing. I have a Rocker1 extended and baffled shroud that I am comparing it to. The Rocker1 does a great job quieting down the PRod. The AUO made it even more quiet registering 67db compared to 69db of the Rocker1 using a sound app on my iPhone 7 Plus. The sound signature is lower in pitch and I mostly hear just the mechanicals of the gun, very quiet. I then took it to Joe B’s and we put it on a Zbroia Sapsan and compared it to a KOI and both did a great job of quieting down the .25 cal shooting 25gr JSB @ 950fps, hot for a Zbroia! The AOU’s sound signature was a bit lower with the KOI a bit brighter but this was done indoors in Joe’s shop. Back yard friendly sound from my airguns is a must for me and this AUO does a fabulous job of making it sound like a toy. I want to thank Charlie for sending me this moderator to test and for whoever made it. It is a quality, light LDC that does what it supposed to do, quiet the report of any airgun it is mounted to.

But you know what the even more interesting thing is? I just got in a couple of newer units from Geo and Rocker1, both supposed to be more effective than their previous models so it will be an intriguing upcoming test for sure!
