Actually, when my daughter was little, I thought she proved that monkeys descend from us. LOL. But she grew out of it, so the jury is still out on that one.

My best friend bought one like that when I was in 6th grade. I bought the Schwinn Collegiate. I still have it but, not with all original parts. I already knew my age makes me old to some people.

I specialized in evolutionarily biology - I’ve never heard anyone who understands the theory say that humans were descended from monkeys.

Creatures that are alive today all have common ancestry - it is just a matter of how far back in time that ancestor was living on earth. Creatures with a great degree of genetic similarity like humans and chimpanzees and bonobos all evolved from some other creature, which is no longer alive today because it (like basically 99.9% of life on earth) went extinct.

For dogs and wolves it’s so close that they have really not entirely separated. Enough dogs are mating with enough wolves that genes from purebred dogs show up in wolves in remote areas (wolf/dog hybrids, pass it on to other wolves, which pass it on to other wolves until the gene is all over the place).
