I'm going to go the other side of this coin...
It seems common for folks not to even try to let me in when I am merging onto a highway. Even though there is nothing in the outer lane, they refuse to move over, slow or speed up. Reckon everyone has cruise and hands free on while they play with the super computer display on the dash or nap. Or maybe playing patty cake to the tune of "We will rock you".

Around this Boro, drivers will speed up to cut into the lane I am in.  If there is not enough room, I am supposed to brake so they can be rude and wedge themselves in front of me.  It seems like it would be beneath their dignity to get in back.  I have not been side swiped yet.

That's why they put stop lights at the end of the on-ramp now, to get people slowed down to freeway speed!

I'm so glad we don't have any of that foolishness around here. It was just starting to creep into the CA high desert when I moved.

It seems it is a race to some, they think if they aren't passing they are loosing. Every position counts, LOL. I don't mind the passing as long as they don't cut close in front of people or tailgate that's irritating because it puts others at risk. On the flip side we have some that will always go 20-30 mph slower than the speed limit, and they are a hazard too.

In the last couple of years our traffic has gotten way worse in our area. The roads to town are overwhelmed from about 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM from the south and north on weekdays, the weekends aren't so bad yet. At the same time there are more cars the main drag though town and it got an impassable median installed replacing the left turn lane to prevent turning left so everyone has to drive further and make lots of U-turns at the lights or go around the block where the no U-turn signs are posted. It really is a lot harder to go to several places on different sides of the street and there hasn't been a reduction in accidents either. It seems like the powers to be sat down and brainstormed on what can we do to impede traffic flow?

Lots of things to look for when merging onto the highway. Especially the people on the ramp behind you. Chances are they are also looking back at the oncoming traffic and not at your brake lights...

Yep they act like the steering wheel weighs 3000lbs then get mad at your for daring to make them have to move it.

I'm so ready for fall!!!! I think today is going to be the last hurrah for summer but who knows. We've got rain until Monday and it's suppose to be in the low 80s.😁😁 I'm suppose to be pet sitting Saturday through Monday afternoon. Of course we'll all, or at least those who get snow will be bemoaning the need for summer again.😂😂
