I saw a woman begging with a sign near the exit of a grocery store. Typical sign - Need money, car broke down, kids to feed... all the while watching something on a cellphone behind the sign. My wife wouldn't let me tell her to sell the phone if see needs money.

Cut her some slack, she was probably checking on her stock portfolio.

Jim, the only time I wear my cap backwards is when I am mechanicing under my truck - like changing the oil/filter.  Otherwise, YEP, "Stupidest thing I've ever seen!"

As for the backwards hat thing...
I've worn mine backwards for a number of reasons, some of which have been mentioned. I have never worn one sideways unless it got slapped that way because someone got offended by me wearing it backwards... 

Now what I don't get is folks that wear those visor half hat things upside down. Unless, of course, the purpose is to act as a dish to collect messages from space... who knows.
