Help deciding on .25 springer please

I have shot once a 125 with gasram and a 125 with the standard spring. It's a day a night difference. The gasram shotcycle is way more controlled with less vibrations. I guess even if you are a master tuner of springers, you still could not get to that level of a gasram shotcycle.

Most people who have tested untuned gasram & coilspring 125/135's agree. But the keyword here is 'untuned'. MikeyB, the resident Hatsan specialist here, has tuned Hatsan mag springers into very smooth machines. Coilsprings have a bunch of advantages over gasrams to me, so I'll be buying a springer-135 once I find one. They're getting scarce, it seems, which I wouldn't have thought a year back.

The first part is very accurate in my experience. Gas spring rifles in general and specifically the Hatsan Vortex air spring rifles I've acquired DO shoot MUCH NICER right out of the box. Unless the piston seal is damaged during factory assembly, the Vortex shot cycle is a firm but pleasant THUMP. The same Hatsan rifle with a steel coil spring usually has a harsh and fairly twangy (spring vibrations) shot cycle.

I think the second part is not as difficult as described.

I am not a master springer tuner or a Hatsan expert either. Not even close! Just someone who has a little mechanical experience, likes to tinker, has absorbed some of the DEEP information available on the GTA site, and has an unhealthy addiction to Hatsan air rifles. A fairly simple lube-tune helps most Hatsan coil springers shoot better.

On the lower power Hatsans the fairly simple lube-tune alone works fine for me most of the time. Still leaves a little spring twang but usually not enough to annoy me.
On the Hatsan magnums (125/135) specifically, the remaining twang is too much for me to tolerate. I found that a longer tighter fitting spring guide stops all spring vibrations and brings the shot cycle on these rifles VERY close to their Vortex powered siblings.

Do I have a preference? Not really. I haven't had a Vortex leak on me yet and I haven't broken any Hatsan coil springs either. My choices are mostly cost and task driven. Both springs will put a pellet where I want it so they are both welcome in my stable.

Hatsan 1000X Vortex .25. Bought the rifle for nothing more than to rob the gas ram out of it for another project but like always, tested for function before I did.

Stock out of the box:
-JSB 25.39gr Avg 560 for about 17.7 fpe
-H&N FTT 19.91gr Avg 621 for about 17 fpe

That gas ram was robbed to convert a Webley Valuemax .20 from spring to ram to see the difference between them. Turns out there was enough of a difference between those early Valuemax rifles and the newer ones (they're the same rifle except for cosmetic stuff)  that I also had to use the 1000X piston to make it work. When all was said and done, I took the piston and spring from the Valuemax and rebuilt the 1000X. Simple cleanup, lube tune, added a piece of Mt Dew bottle on the top rear of the piston and replaced the Hatsan piston seal with a Vortek one.
After it settled in a bit, ran the same 2 pellets over the chrony:
-JSB 25.39gr Avg 556 for about 17.4 fpe
-H&N FTT 19.91gr Avg 618 for about 16.9 fpe

Very minor difference in speed, shot cycle and no twang and if you didn't know I did it, you'd think you were shooting the Vortex version. That rifle now belongs to Blowpipe Sam after he got a surprise gift and as far as I know, he has no complaints and is now considering a 2nd .25.

Just noticed this for consideration. Field Supply has the Hatsan Dominator 200s carbine .25 cal. with spring or gas ram for $298. Doesn't show in the four page on line catalog. Type it in the search window. I love my .177 Dominator carbine springer.

Your review was why I bought my first one in .22. Liked it enough I followed it with the .177 when AoA sold off their remaining stock for $100. Ended up with a second .22 after convincing Geoff to buy and try one by telling him if he didn't like it, I'd buy it from him and did. Got a 3rd .22 from Mongopusher pretty much the same way. He asked about tuners, I recommended one and told him if he decided not to, let me know, I'd buy it and also did.
Prettier version of, but still a Model 95 springer with some cosmetic differences and all the parts interchange. Once in a very rare while, one shows up on Ebay for sale.
