22 Rainstorm and fx hybrid slugs?

Just wondering if anyone tried the fx hybrid slugs in their Rainstorm.22 cal? If so what are your thoughts ? Thanks and stay safe.

The only way to know for certain , is to test them in your own rifle. I have had really good luck in my Evanix guns in .22 but they were either home cast or from NSA. I suggest getting some in both sizes to test, find what works then buy a pile of them. I prefer to support NSA than buy the overpriced FX offerings at this point. Heck even their own sponsored shooters aren’t shooting them anymore.

Thanks for your reply. I certainly agree that the fx hybrids are expensive. Do you think that an NSA regular slug would work in the 50fpe Rainstorm? I was understanding that the barrel was choked and a regular slug may not work well or cause damage. I have only shot eunjin pellets so far which are not available at the moment here in Canada. Just figured the hybrid concept may fit the bill . Thanks again.

Check Nielsen ammo or varmint knockers on eBay. Both of their 24ish grain shoot well out of my Jkhan noblesse(rainstorm clone). NOE has sizing dies for 10$ but Nielsen has them available in different sizes. All my barrels are choked and do well with bullets if sized correctly. Air rifle bullets are typically a soft bhn and will not harm your barrel. Hope this helps

I know it has been a while. I recently tried the 22 fx hybrid slugs in the rainstorm and I must say they are silly accurate out to about 83 yards. I have tried nearly every 22 pellet made over the years and these are without a doubt the most accurate round I have put through this rifle. Cheers and thanks for listening.

That’s good to hear. If you hunt, they are definitely worth the extra coin for the accuracy and extra power on target due to better bc.
