I had an Avenger sent to me for mods, never had time until now.

I was not impressed with how the barrel band screws bit into the pressure tube. I can tolerate anything but damage to the pressure tubes, but thats just me.

that would be the only negative i have with the gun. i dont mind the cast metal because its functional and i can fix the threaded transfer port. i am rather impressed with the front half of the gun with built in plenum and reg housing all in one piece.

anyhow, there are three things i can improve upon the Avenger.
1. i can make an extension to inclease the plenum. the plenum is rather small, only .785x1.25".
2. i can make or mod the valve for better air flow, throat is only 7/32!
3. I can easily make a bottle adapter and run another regulator with 3000psi output from the bottle. same concept as the FX Mavrick so the guns reg doesnt have to deal with 4250psi.

the question remains: when can i do it? probably end of Feb , 2021.

Got a plenum made. with Nothing else but a plenum and a .218 barrel port. my .25 cal is shooting 34.39 grains at 910fps. Not bad! instant 63fpe conversion at 3000psi. air consumption is still massive. But who cares. 15 shots at +60fpe.

I had not modded the valve or have time to make a bottle conversion yet.

Corrections: 33.95grains @ 910fps for 62fpe.

I do, but I dont recommend them. i have a 5% rate that complains about replacement poppets not sealing. mainly i think they burnish the poppet improperly and ended up having an uneven burnish ring on the poppet that wont seal. even when i tell them not to burnish.

I prefer to mod the valve and make a valve seat insert so the poppet seals with its OD.

Ok ,i was just wondering as to what to do if and when mine fails.
I thought it would be easiest to have a spare or two and just easily replace when the time comes.
I only fill mine to 3k,got the regulator down to 1.5k and im perfecty fine with accuracy with the 50 shots i get.
I also shoot it till the pressure in the tank is the same with the regulator pressure when im done shooting and store it like that.It might help with longevity?

The poppet in a regulated gun don't take near the abuse as a poppet in an unregulated gun.

Duy when I bought 2 poppets from you for the Liberty I'm curious as to whether or not one of those poppets would work in the Avenger 25

Stephen seemed to think they were the same size however I really hate chancing on putting the spare that I have in it if it's not going to work.

I'll be watching this thread with great interest, as I've embarked on a major modification plan on my Flashpup. (See my separate thread.)

About this "bottle adapter" idea:

Are you talking about some kind of hard, fixed connector? I'm trying to work this out myself. I was going to clamp-on a small buddy bottle, but connected with a hose. While that then gives the option of also putting it on a belt clip, it doesn't look very nice. So I'm considering permanently attaching it, in which case the valve could go forward.

It turns out that a 0.2L CF bottle, with regulator, would be exactly the right length to have the regulator's output even with my gun's end cap.
So, something like a "reverse C" shaped fitting might be really slick.
Is this doable?

And then, how would one fill the system? Could a new fill-port or hard nipple be fitted somewhere?

Also: I'm assuming that with such a setup, and the regulator set to 2900 psi, I could remove my HUMA regulator, and the entire original air tube would act as a 165cc plenum. Is that correct, or would something have to me further modified?

I would not hotwire anything to avoid the Frankenstein aesthetics. No external hoses... there is a fill port with the bottle regulator. use that to fill....

I may be doing the same thing with the avenger.

I will read that carefully later, but a quick look at your picture tells me it could certainly work. and nice aesthetics.
But the wooden stock Flashpup has a MUCH ;longer air tube, so this would be extremely cumbersome, even with a tiny bottle.

Also, I'd want to keep the total length at 32". And doing it that way puts the weight a lot more forward. Especially so with a wooden pup.

it also puts some uncomfortable stuff right where one's left hand wants to go.

Here's a quick knock-up I just made of what might work, with the 0.2L bottle. (And my 0.3L detachable bottle idea, underneath.)
But kind of fugly.

Still, the weight distribution is much better, and you get a really nice palm-rest. I'm pretty sure my dimensions are REALLY close.

If this works, would you be willing to machine & sell me just the connecting block?

Also, am I correct that it replaces the Hatsan end cap? (This is important when calculating dimensions, given how tight my design is.)
