Outdoor shooting shelters

 Been looking for and affordable and portable shooting shelter so I can continue testing and target practicing all year and ran across this! https://geteskimo.com/collections/pop-ups/products/quickfish-2i
 Looks like it would do the job nicely.  I will run a extension cord out to a electric heater and have a insulated warm place to shoot from!

I would do that except none of my windows open they are all fixed dual pane.

  Cracked  Open back door?   Raised windows and removes screen on the storm door maybe?

I have something similar that I use for ice fishing. I take a Coleman 2 mantle lantern to use as a light and heat source. I have fished in 20* temperature with a 15mph breeze without my winter coat on . . . It doesn't take much to stay warm in those shelters.

Make sure you get one large enough to comfortably shoot from. I believe you will like it.

Nice and nice price. There is lots of options, but none will beat that cost. It looks like it would be an ideal cold weather emergency survival shelter. I have thought about one of those Amish built yard barns, some of which are pretty darn nice/fancy.

For ice fishing,... I would like something like in the movie "Grumpy Old Men".

  Hight of your shooting  openings  should be kept in mind.  My ground blind is about 2" to high to shoot off a bi pod. So I use a Caldwell  field pod for the kids to shoot off of when hunting.https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/caldwell%C2%AE-deadshot-fieldpod-hunting-rest

  It held up well for 3 years of hunting but now one of the locks for leg hight adjustment  has gotten  loose so it's time to replace it.

Being from Minnesota and spending many hours every winter in a hub fish house I can attest they work great to about -20 but after that they can get cool.  I would spend a couple of hundred more and get either a Outbreak 450i or a 949i. Both by Eskimo.  The Outbreak has the true walk in door for easier access with gear,chairs,table, etc.  The 949 has nice removable windows at chair height.  Depending on the temperature either a Buddy heater or a Big Buddy are a excellent heater for them.  Don’t buy one too small or too short (depending on how tall you are).  L&M Supply, Thone Bros, Marine General usually have good prices with free shipping.

I agree and it rarely gets below 20F so it would be plenty warm inside with a space heater!

That's a nice looking product / man cave. After a few practice runs I bet it could be setup and functional in 10 seconds or less.

Is that primarily a backyard solution? The square interlocking floor mats are cheap and effective and insulating. The whole package, with flooring, can't weigh very much, maybe 4 or 5lbs

A bit more than 4-5#. 28#. It does get down to 8.5x8.5x42". I like the foam pad idea.

I've seen those interlocking floor pads at Harbor Freight but didn't notice the price. Costco too

In the light infantry I learned how to survive in the middle of winter in Washington State (Fort Lewis) with nothing but issued rucksacks and green mats to sleep on and a poncho liner (with bungie cords) still keeping dry.

Later I bought one of those small bent rod tents in camo which had enough room to cover me without jerry rigging some shelter with bushes and tree branches.

Today, if the weather is inclement, I crack open the back door and shoot, but this winter I have been taking my air rifles OUTSIDE to a longer range at the corner of the property and shooting without the "crack in the door" thing.

Guess what I learned?

I shoot better just walking out there with the rifle in the snow or whatever and standing to shoot than I do from inside the house at closer range to the targets!

You know why?  Because the crack in the door psychologically screws me up!  I can't shoot "comfortably" that way!

I also have a .22 and .20 pellet hole in the door jam on the left door because I stood back too far inside and shot the door edge instead!  Those pellets, one from the HW80 .20 and the other from the HW80 K .22 dented the hardwood there visibly and ricocheted into the back door to the garage inside the kitchen!

Very cool! Looks insulated for those frozen lake fishing excursions so should do well with a space heater!

Also if you can get one with a grey interior it’s a lot brighter inside.  Black interiors are designed to block light for spearing. (Fishing through a large hole in the ice with a spear). Most all CLAM pop ups have grey interiors.
