Rws 48 cocking play

I just got an DIANA 48 in .22 and I think it’s probably my favorite Diana so far. I noticed when I cock it the small pin that the cocking rod connects to is moving a little bit inside the hole. Is this normal? Is there a way to tighten it up? I’m worried that it will wear and damage the gun.

Same here on the pin - but mine is not new ( I got it used from MCoulter )
I also wonder about cocking handle not staying against stock ?

There should be a screw in front there somewhere.
The handle not staying against the stock....
You need to adjust the rod tension.
The one that bulls the piston back.
You loosen a small nut and turn the turn the rod to adjust the closing tension..

You can check with Hector after the holidays..

There is a allen head set screw in the face of the floating chamber that the holds the cocking rod stud in place.
If you have a spring compressor disassemble the gun removing the floating chamber to access the set screw. Remove the screw and stud degrease the stud and set screw put a drop of blue locktite on the set screw and reassemble the gun the set screw should stay tight after you do that.
Hopefully it hasn't been loose long enough to cause for the parts to wear to the point that they will need to be replaced.

Perfect on adjustment - turned end out 1/2 and tightened lock nut - handle now stays in place.

Also used allen wrenched and tightened pin - ( placed a safety piece of plastic in loading port incase bear trap failed )
