Hi Ed Happy holidaysI got a new Maxi .22 for Christmas.. from my son(he knew I wanted to port my old one)... So now I have the Buccaneer sibs .177 and .22 with their Urban .22 Cousin... The Mrod .25 twins... the Maximus .22 twins... the AT 44L .22 and a Storm .177... pics below for proof... features both Benji sets of twins... Both one modded one stock...So yep did the porting and with BBT(sized .217) got the below string...826,830,830,833,826,820,803,797... Then did four 15 yard shots... was way low and right...so did a quick electrical tape mod to the barrel band... tape under the barrel and top of air tube... and barrel was almost even at breech and muzzle end... so we jump in the truck go up the hill so can see how 40-50 yards go... well I goofed... first shot goes way right and just nicks the plate...oops barrel is pointing right...forgot the bottom air tube grub... so push the barrel back to about center dial the scope up a bit and send four to look for signs of instability... no instability... but shots moved progressively right...did not bring allen wrench so headed home... I think it just may end up near or at moa. now that it is tightened up...It is sort of amazing in that it looks like it may match my AT in accuracy with the BBT... it does match the fpe and I send 8 and re-pump the AT... But the Max does it with 1000 less psi and is so much lighter... Oh it has a cheap Winchester 2-7x32 AO on it... The new Max is the one wearing the peeps from my 1985 Daisy 953... have not done a lot of airgun stuff this last year... Been a really bad year since Mom's big stroke about this time 2019... found it was Glioblastoma caused... Lost her hubby of 44 years(my kids called him Grandpa Boo) in Feb...heart attack while caring for her...in March ugly unneeded stuff still being dealt with... Mom passed the day after her birthday in May...was sick for 3 weeks in jan after heading home on SanFran to Seattle flight... five rows across from me and 2 behind me were Chinese folks...did isolate for those three weeks plus two more...my copd is now a bit worse... no testing back then...have not bothered with antibody test...Scraped sanded and painted the house bit by bit for the summer...felt the support of my four grown kids(and 2 grandkids), even the Ex and Mom in law... For the most part have got my feet back under me like Mom and Drew would want...I always called Drew Buffalo since I was 14...un-movable, BIG, shaggy and reddish hair.. ... I can feel them as a part of my journey again. Feels good to be back to honing my skills of figuring out what has a chance of working or not and maybe some of the why...My first thought about the flash was wondering if the AT44 L 24" barrel would fit... but unless the .25 barrels are different than the .22... Would love to have a Long Flash to go with the AT long... Not bad at all on the 50 yard groups... bet they get better after some bonding and shooting in...
