My parents taught me better when I was a small kid! My parents always told us if we unwrapped or peeked ahead of time we would not get the gift, and as far as I know we all believed and fear kept us away.

 Now that I am a big kid I don't have that temptation. Mostly because my wife hides presents too good though, LOL.
