Ok, enjoyed coffee with the girls, meandered through the nursery greenhouse, made a Costco run for steaks ands flowers, Walmart for soap, Starbucks for refreshers and now we are at the shoe store. I’m in the car surfing and jamming tunes while they shop.  I just want some food.  Ask I’ve had was coffee so far today.  I need to get home so I can accomplish something…

Betty Lou and I both made appointments to get hair cuts tomorrow. We were lucky to get back to back appointments on such a short notice... especially on a Saturday. I'm just getting a haircut. She's getting the full monty. My appointment is up first so I can escape and she can call me when she it done.

Haircuts are a time sink for me.   It's at least a couple hours to drive to the haircutter, wait around, get it cut and drive home.    Now my wife cuts it.   Takes her 10 minutes.   Sometimes she makes a little goof but I don't care.   She's the one who has to see the goof, not me.   The goof will be gone in a couple days anyways.    I've offered to cut her hair, it seems like an easy thing to do, watching you tube videos.    So far she has declined my offer.

If it was up to me I would use the same attachment I use on my beard and buzz it all off... Betty Lou won't let me.
I have a whole closet full of hats I could wear if things went bad. I've had long hair all my life until recently. It's just too hot for that now.

Haven't been to a barber in well over a decade as I cut my own hair with a flowbee or sheers with length attachment clipped on. Ez peezee weezy!

Guys showed back up to get their stump grinder next door so I just got them to go ahead and cut my trees and haul off the limbs. Big monkey off my back!

$12 for seniors and veterans.
I am both a senior and a veteran so I get mine for $10.

Back when I needed a barber I got my hair cut at King's barbershop on US 1 in St. Augustine.  The proprietor was deaf and spoke in sign language.  I'd take my hat off and give him the sign for a flat top.

The time I save by having my wife cut my hair instead of going into town, I could use to follow the Kardashian girls on TV or maybe do some shooting or tinkering.

Dan how you holding up? That's a lot of hard work you've been doing. I need to get some dirt to fill in a lot of gopher holes in my mother's yards too that washed out in the flooding. Probably 3yds of dirt at least. The joys of sloping land. Should've done that when I had my dump trailer before selling it. Oh well that's a problem for another day.

 I am hanging in there pushing myself past where I set limits because it all has to get done ASAP. Of course with a lot of extra pain. It has been like what they say about how to eat an elephant, one bite at a time. I am very careful as to HOW I lift stuff. Besides constant increased pain I am feeling pretty worn out, I wish I had some good pain pills for times like these. But praise God I am able to get by.

I actually had an appointment at an old school barber shop like that here in town but Betty Lou found the place one town over the can get both of us in at the same time.. and on Saturday, today at 10:30. Mine is $15 and her complete overhaul is $40. So I cancelled the appointment in town.

Well, after the hair guts today I plan to start bring guns in from the shop and getting them put away in the house. I don't want to leave any in the shop while we're out of town.
Might get the Flash back out for some more shooting. I'll need to dump the 60 minute scba tank to put the new valve/fill station in it on Tuesday so I might as well use some of the air. I think it's sitting at 3k right now.
I also need to come up with a portable target stand for the trip. I have a few ideas... as always, repurpose is the name of the game.

Mornin y’all.  Today I hope to zero and chronograph the new Hatsan Flash-R.

But first I’ve got to pump it up.

It came with 2500 PSI in it and I shot it down to about 1800 yesterday afternoon.  The gauge is still reading 1800 this a.m.  After I get the Hatsan sorted out I need to go to the pharmacy but that’s all I’ve got on my dance card today.

Good morning!

I got up at 6:24 after 4 hours 34 minutes sleep.  I weighed 198lbs this morning, This marks one week weighing 200 or under every morning. I think I am burning more calories being on my feet most days than when I am not, and I have been trying to eat mostly proteins.     

Plans: To finish my part of the work on the house clean up/clean out if I can. I am sure even when I think I am finished there will be little stuff to do and then. I will help my brother get packed and moved where/when he needs my help. He has three adult children that live locally that are helping with that part too.

Back in the '80's I was in the Air Force on a very limited income with a Wife and two Daughters.
 "How often does a good Airman need a Haircut?  Never he is always properly groomed!"
So instead of weekly Barber visits I bought a Wahl trimmer and cut my own... got pretty good at giving myself a Flat-top.
40 years later I still do... Haven't been to a Barber / Hair dresser since.

In my younger impressionable years I was a framer. I built several houses. The problem with that is that if it's within 1/4", nail it. Let the finish guys cover it. That mindset followed me throughout the rest of my life.
Pretty sure a self inflicted haircut would not go well.

Back in the eighties as a young punk rocker with no girl friend I acquired an electric trimmer and gave myself a Mohawk.    My buddies and I wore that trimmer out.  We went through about a tub of “styling gel” and mousse (remember mousse?) a month.  After my punk phase I just let my hair grow long.  Never cut it for years.  Then one day I looked in the mirror and decided that my hair was too thin to wear long anymore.  That ship had sailed.  Now I mow it flat about four times a year.  Good enough!

Mornin y’all!  Didn’t sleep last night.  Dyspeptic this morning.  I says to the day “You be bloody to me and I’ll be bloody to you!”  Doesn’t help.

Plans are to enjoy the last few days of my convalescence before I have to go back to work.  Maybe some gardening, loafing, shooting BB guns, the options are endless.

I cut the boys hair and I’ve cut Mrs. Ps a couple times… maybe only once.  I have the boys clipper and shears down but Mrs. Ps is a little more intimidating. 

This is true…

I have thought about learning to cut hair and do ladies nails so I can open a barber/nail salon at the house for a retirement job/income.  I also have 3 girls that I could do their nails for free if they desired.  Even if I didn’t do the nail thing I’d certainly do the barber thing.  I have ideas…

…and I want to open a coffee shop/bakery too.

I keep thinking about opening something airgun related here. Several small places available. I think I would want something with around 35yds to shoot indoors. Then I think about having a 12 hour a day commitment and the thought dissipates.
