 I woke up it was dark and 15f, it is now light and 12f , Well my plan is to head to work midday and push apple pruning brush while the ground is frozen. Cut a load of firewood, and shoot some air rifles.

  I woke up at 5:20 and lay in bed thinking for 10 minutes and then got up at 5:30.

  I don't have any plans yet. I will likely be staying indoors mostly because we are forecast to get some rain this morning. The radar looks like we will soon.

It is going to be cooler, our 10 day forecast says we don't get back into the 70's°F until the 8th.

Good morning, nothing like dealing with an impingement first thing in the morning. I hate wake up feeling good then get hit with it later on. So I will make the best of it. At least I am not having sleep issues just mobility ones. Plans, yep you guessed it-work on van, plant some veggies in the garden. Or just take it easy and shoot some air guns and try out the new compressor. Nothing really set in stone at this point.

I’m in the middle of another ultra shift at work.  I’ve pretty much lived here this week.  Weather came in Monday/tuesday so that created work.  Then I ended up picking up 3 extra shifts starting Friday morning.  I’m 25 hours into a 40 hour shift at work.  Just got back to the shop.  Getting some fuel for the body currently and then standing by for the next thing.  I hope it stays quiet 🤫

I think she's on the mend... she's back up and around. Killer's Sister just stopped by and brought us an old Military ammo box with some of Killer's ashes in it to keep in the bar. This was his home and they belong here.

Mornin y’all!  Its my last day of work before I go in for surgery later this week.  It’s gonna be a busy day at the park.  On the plus side I’ll be laid up during spring break!

I'm up and in the shop this morning. Apparently the Secret Squirrel is sleeping in because I haven't been goaded into getting off of the bench stool yet.
I built a box out of wood and hung it in the upper right corner of the shooting deck yesterday. It's purpose is to house the 24" flat screen that can be moved between that location and the Castin' Shack.
It will be used for streaming sporting events and airgun related videos while we're plinking on the North range. I can also run the ATN XSight scope through it via the mini hdmi port or patch it into the security camera system to view the driveway and front of the house for approaching visitors/deliveries.
Today I will put a door on the front of it to close and protect the TV from the elements when not in use. Then I'll turn Betty Lou loose with her paint brush.

Good morning, tough day for me yesterday so not a whole lot got done. This morning it's like nothing happened. I just never know when the arthritis is going to knock me down. Anyway, I was able to make the trap rounds and put one varmint in the freezer. The leftovers will be plant food for the new fruit trees. Catch up on the indoor chores and work on the van some. Make up some fresh garden dirt for the pots to plant sun chokes and potatoes. And whatever else I can cram into the day needs to be done.

I bury the remains just below the tree I am going to plant and then temporarily fence it off with chicken wire for a few weeks then take it down. I do the same with ground fish parts. It will fertilize for about 6 months to year. Just like the indians when they plant the 3 sisters(corn, beans, squash). The fish is buried when the corn is planted, when the corn is about 2ft. tall, the beans are planted to run up the corn and the squash is planted the same time, it acts as a natural shade for the roots of the other 2 plants. The fish will feed all the plants in the mound during the entire growing cycle.

If you have outdoor pets and they get ticks on them, possums are good to have around. They eat bunches of ticks.

But possums that become a nuisance may need to be trapped and relocated or dispatched if other options aren't readily available.

I have to keep the possums at bay here, they are very destructive when it comes to having chickens. They kill the adult chicken for the crop contents, eat the eggs, chicks, poults, tear up pens and feeders, and I don't want to patch up a dog's face either. It I didn't have chickens I would let them pass. Ticks are the least of my problems around here but the mosquitoes, that is a whole different problem.

When it comes to pest destruction they are right up there with a raccoon. I put a coon in the freezer this morning. The possums are plant food. I am surprised that you caught that one with a double door trap. I never had much luck with them. I use the single door ones less chance of a power reverse when tripped.
