I was awake at 4:13 but managed to get back to sleep and then woke and got up at 4:45.

 Late yesterday, I received an "estimate" on replacing our power service drop pole from the first company I had come out. He said he hasn't replaced a pole in years so, it seemed more like a "guesstimate" as he didn’t do any calculations on paper. Maybe his quote was accurate because he knows his stuff but it felt rather inflated to me.

 This morning, just before 7 AM, a second company that does poles all the time arrived to provide their estimate. They promised to send me an email with their detailed estimate as soon as possible. I am optimistic that this second estimate will be considerably lower and more fair.

 To facilitate the broken power pole replacement, I need to take down a part of our yard's perimeter chain-link fence. This will allow the heavy equipment necessary for the job to access the pole without any hindrance. The plan is just to remove the fencing top rail and pull back the chain-link between poles to ensure the access for the impending work.

 Other than that, I need to finish preparing for Bible study tonight too.

My brain came to life at 3:30 this morning.. in as much as that is. However the rest of my being put up a good fight but finally succumbed to the urge to drain the system.
I soon replenished with a large Bubba cup of hazelnut flavored coffee.
It appears that nobody else around here shares my enthusiasm to face the day and all things relative. Those 2 other beings that live here are snore harmonizing. It's magical in an annoying kinda way.    Almost as bad as the news on the TV.
But, there is light on the horizon.. oh wait, that might be the sunrise promising to provide a beautiful 74 degree day.
The only thing better than that is the fact that... I don't have to go to work ! The only thing bad about that is the work I do these days don't come with a pay check. 
Plans? What plans? I don't need no stinkin' plans. Just a simple man leading a simple life.. at least that's how Betty Lou sees it.  That's a good thing...  ain't it?

Bill, I just take the day as it comes, no set time table on things to get done. The van is coming along. The water pump and fan belt are back on. I need to make a temporary gasket where the thermostat goes. That will be last to fix after the new radiator is in stalled. Now this repair seems like it's taking for ever it's because I don't have a shop to work in, this is being done redneck style. I am also repairing somebody else's less than stellar repair jobs, over torqued and broken bolts, excess corrosion and sealant, and making sure that I don't miss any thing while repairing my contribution to the damage as well. I have to get this vehicle past DMV's rebuilt inspection in order to get it back on the highway.

Mornin y'all.  Up and down all night.  I made good use of the time though and practiced operating my new (to me) NVD in the dark.  I got up for good about 0700 and took Belle for a lope around our permission.  Very foggy this a.m.  We walked right up on a doe and fawn in the fog.  It scared Belle more than the deer.  She's very timid.

I have a pre-surgical appointment to see the surgeon's PA this afternoon and hear stuff I already know cause this ain't my first rodeo.  The good thing is it's a 15:30 appointment and you know those slackers ain't hanging around one second past 16:30 so I should be in and out pretty quick.

The next thing on the agenda though is get out the chuck-it, tennis balls, and frisbee.  I plan to spend about an hour flat wearing belle out!  She does much better left home alone if she is all tuckered out.

Then the memsahib and I are off to town for our idea of haute cuisine.  Whataburger or the Mex Ptomaine truck!  Flip a coin!

Wife and I have to go up to Flagstaff to sign the amendments to our trust. We closed 2 of our checking accounts because the customer service (managers not teller).

It was 5:00 a.m. when I awoke, still groggy from the remnants of a restless night. The allure of my cozy bed proved too strong, and I resolved to remain nestled in its embrace a while longer. However, tranquility was elusive as I tossed and turned, searching for a comfortable position amidst the tangle of sheets.

  Time seemed to crawl, and weariness gradually gave way to discomfort. At 5:55 a.m., a sudden and excruciating cramp seized both of my legs, compelling me to action. The pain was sharp and unyielding, my muscles contracting with a vigor that expelled all remnants of sleep from my mind. Desperate to escape the agony, I attempted to rise, only to find that my right foot was ensnared in the twisted sheets, a consequence of my earlier unease.
Navigating this predicament proved challenging, as each movement threatened to worsen the cramp and further entangle me. Slowly and painstakingly, I extricated my foot, liberating myself from the confines of the bed.  I stood, hobbled around a bit and the cramping muscles relaxed. I am ready to face the day ahead now.

  Yesterday I took down a section of our yard’s perimeter fence to make access for heavy equipment that will be used to replace the power-service pole. I also unbolted my tire changing machine that was about 5 foot from the pole and moved it out of the way, and got rid of some weeds in that neglected garden area where the pole resides as well. I am still waiting for two estimates.
 
  Hopefully I will receive those estimates today so I can decide on a company and get the pole replaced.  All 3 guys that have looked at said the way I tied it up looks great and they think it will hold but, I know it is still a risk until the broken and leaning pole is replaced. I will be put at ease when the pole is solid again.

Hoosier Momma still meet's with her 4 "grade school" friends on a regular basis. If not in person, even remotely...
The "chicken house" can sure put away the sauce and gossip all night long.

We were hanging out in the shop yesterday having a few beers. I was shooting the P-Force out the shooting window while Betty Lou surfed You Tube on the TV for classic music vids. Before we knew it we had a list of stuff put together that we needed/wanted that aren't available here in town. So we made a plan to run to Troy this morning. I want to go to Harbor Freight and Lowes and she wants to go to Walmart. These runs usually include a stop someplace to eat.
So I reckon that's the plan.

Mornin y'all!  I'm stuck in the box on an absolutely gorgeous spring day!          

The park is crawling with Brass and VIP's from the Capitol today.  I loathe those devils so it's probably best that I'm in here while they're out there. 

Since I'm working the early shift today I hope to get out of here by midafternoon and head for the woods with a BB gun!

Good morning,
Yesterday, I spent approximately four hours performing yardwork, which culminated in a very restful night's sleep. 

I woke up at 5:20 AM feeling well-rested, though I woke with the usual pains associated with such physical activity.

I stayed hydrated and thereby avoided leg, arm or hand cramps by drinking enough liquids. 

Regarding today's plans, I am expecting a delivery from FedEx of another eBay purchase. Additionally, my wife and I plan to spend some time with our youngest daughter, her husband, and a few of our grandchildren.

Thinking of going down to the meadow and moving more dead branches to the burn pit. Not suppose to be windy today with a high of 68f. We'll see?🤔

Dan get you a big jug of dill juice at the store. Drinking that in addition to the water will prevent cramps. Those leg cramps in bed made me shoot out of there lightning quick recently so I got a jug of that dill juice and no more cramps since.

Back from the run to Troy.. ate at a Chinese Buffet on the way home where they don't let unattended kids at the food tables.
As always at that place we over ate and I want a nap.

Just got my blood test results. My sodium and potassium are at the bottom of the range. I guess all of the water I drink is washing it out of my system.🤔 Well I love salt but have been avoiding it because of my high blood pressure. Guess I need to take my BP and see where it's at.

Bill I did good today only eating two small plates. I'm full without needing the food coma nap. I did bad going just after lunch hours and getting charged higher dinner prices for the same food served in lunch.

Yeah, neither Betty Lou nor I made it half ways through the second plate. I got small portions of different items.. some I really like and some not so much. I could eat an entire plate of the baked cab casserole stuff.
We hate leaving food on the plate at a buffet but we thought it better of the 2 evils today.
We almost never get the desert stuff. Sometimes just a couple pieces of fruit.
