Yeah, we're up.. except for that lazy dog... she's still snoring.
Rained mostly all night. Betty Lou said she heard the thunder boomers but I guess I slept through them. I went out for a walk about and I should have worn swim trucks or took a canoe... lot of water out there.
No rain predicted today so alot of it will soak into the sandy ground but it's expected to rain again over the weekend.
Plans for today? Nothing on the must do list as of right now but who knows what that squirrel might come up with.
I do need to go pick up the exhaust clamp as soon as Adrienne calls.

Good Morning!
I woke and got up at 5:02 this morning. The air was still and the promise of a rainy day hangs in the atmosphere, with 1.38 inches of rain forecasted. I know the grey clouds will seem to whisper a gentle invitation to take it easy, to stay in and enjoy the serenity that rain often brings.

Today, I have no grand plans, just a lazy day with the simple goals of staying in and staying dry. There is a certain comfort in the idea of a day without obligations, where the rhythm of the falling rain dictates the pace of the day.

 I do have a small excitement to look forward to—I am expecting a delivery of some vintage tools I found on eBay. These tools will complete a couple of sets of wrenches and a socket set that I inherited from my dad, sets that had some pieces missing. The discovery of these tools was serendipitous; I didn't know I "needed" them until I stumbled upon them while browsing.

 As I wait for the mail, my thoughts will drift to the past. The missing tools, I believe, were lost by my younger brother. It might have been during his teenage years or perhaps during a darker period when he struggled with addiction. This collection of tools carries more than just practical value; they bring me memories of my father and working with him at his Auto Body Shop. To replace the missing pieces to complete sets again is something my "perfectionist" dad would love to see happen. I guess this apple didn't fall far from the tree.... 

 Today, as I listen to the rain and anticipate the arrival of these vintage tools, I find an excitement and sense of peace in the simple act of waiting. It will likely be a quiet day, but one filled with small yet meaningful moments of memories of my own great childhood and teen years.

Going down to my daughter's house to spend the night. I've got a doctor appointment at 0930 Friday morning which is 60 miles away. With the rain I don't want to take the chance that some big accident might close the only road south.

Well I got all the chores done. I haven’t run out of money yet so I am digging this unemployment thing. First time in the last 40 years. I keep telling the wife that I am retired now. I’ve seen that stink eye before.

It’s up 16 outside and sunny. In a few I will light that blower up and clear the driveway.
Then maybe some job shopping. I have my resume into a couple places. The main problem is that everyone requires travel. I won’t anymore and that is why I don’t have a job. That and being right at the wrong time lol.

I have a bunch of airgun stuff to do.

Good morning, raining here. Cooking and cleaning for today. When that is done probably go out in the shop and get that mess cleaned up and reorganized. Just lazy around  until this weather breaks. PA has notified me that the compressor has been shipped, something to look forward to next week.

Took a break from govt work and doing my own today. Gotta make progress.  Coffee currently, mustering motivation and formulating the tasks list in my head.  I should be goofing off today too.  I have another ultra shift starting at work tomorrow afternoon.

They were supposed to do it last week but the quack forgot to tell me to do lab work, first.
I did that last Friday.
When I scheduled the appointment ent for today the chick mentioned something about Metformin and 48 hours…..
Hmmm
I went online and found out I should not take Metformin for 48 hours after the CT Urogram as the contrast could affect my liver and/or kidneys.
The quack didn’t mention that either.
I check with son #1 (Physician’s Assistant) and he confirmed that I should stop the Metformin for 48 hours after the contrast is in injected.
I wonder what school these alleged doctors cheated at to get their medical degree?
Somewhere in the Caribbean, no doubt!🤔

It took a lot of fussing and cussing for the task to get done but good thing is that it's now locked in place where heavy winds can't roll it around and it's covered with a secured tarp to keep the wood dry so all is well. The mower pull go ok for you on the trailer and off?

I haven't attempted to load the donor mower on the trailer yet.. that part of the yard holds alot of water after the rains come. It should dry up over the next few days so I can get it loaded up and take it to Mike's.
I never got the call from Adrienne so apparently her truck didn't show up with the exhaust clamp she ordered for me. I expect she'll call today. Meanwhile the Z360 is taking space in the shop. I can work around it and it's too wet to use the mower but I'd just like to have the job done and the mower out of the shop.

Upon further review...
Since all I need to do is put the muffler pipe clamp on the Z360 when it arrives, I think I'm going to move it out of my shop and put it in the covered port I have where it lives when not in use. That way I can reclaim my shop for other things.
Airgun related stuff after that.

 It's too late to say good morning now, I was awake at 4:13 and got up about 10 minutes later as I decided not to try to go back to sleep.

 Yesterdays expected deliveries didn't show up and only one of them did today, the USPS is moving slower than they predict. 

 Oh well, nothing coming is needed urgently.

 Yesterday it rained 3 inches in my backyard. It was a steady rain and not a flash flood. This storm brought us 4.54 inches total at my place. Right now the rain is past and the wind is drying things fairly rapidly. It's 58.3°F on my back deck and the SW wind is 6-14mph.

I was sitting at the shooting window in the shop with the Avenger this morning and a feeling came over me... next thing I knew I was sitting in a puddle of self pitty missing my boy Rambo. I looked up and there was a series of his pictures scrolling on the shop PC screen saver. I spent the next few minutes having a conversation with him.

I miss Pixie a lot (my avatar).  Since meeting Sonja, I/we've also lost Duncan (Schnauzer mix) to cancer.  After him, Pappy (big Pit-Boxer mix and my best friend as long as I was in his life), then Spanky (fierce Min-Pin but also a cuddler) and finally, Ruger (toy Aussie, bat-bleeping crazy and quite senile, likely autistic but a total clown, too).

We're down to Butters (Boston/Pug mix) who is ~ 16 and suffering some dementia, and Elvis, a... who knows what he is.  Pyrenees mix?

Anyway, it's obvious how much Rambo meant to you.  Keep those memories alive.  They love us because they can.


I spent the last couple hours fixing my ID.ME account.  Their website has... problems.  I won't get into it here, but at least I got it resolved.  My plans the remainder of the day likely involve alcohol (Mich Ultra or some Coors Yellow-Bellies), perhaps some edibles (legal for use in Virginia and I got my card for use, hooray anxiety!), no guns, and most definitely some big old tomahawk steaks.  My in-laws are visiting, but FiL is pricing 20x30 shops like mine, and Mil and Sonja went shopping.  MiL loves shopping, Sonja hates it but they find a middle ground.

For now, I'm staring at my Leshiy contemplating finally clicking to [DO IT] button to order that .20 350mm barrel... Or ordering a .22 barrel for Sona's Lelya.  Either way, snow is in the forecast, it is raining cats, dogs, frogs and logs... I'm hungry, and there's a tall cool something close at hand once I get off my duff and walk to the fridge.
