Ticks... there were 2 in the same general spot and the last one was just removed. Boss will soon be her joyful self again.. although she is giving BL the stink eye. A dog treat or 2 should fix that eye issue. She still loves me because I didn't rip no hair out of her ear.
The mower... All the fuel lines and wiring are loose, the battery disconnected and it's up on the jack stands. Next is to pull the clutch and drive pullies and take the mounting bolts out. Electric and air impacts should make easy work of that.
Looks like I will have time to finish at least a couple phases today. I expect to have some remnants of tonight's Superbowl festivities lingering in my head tomorrow so that may require a day of recovery.    We'll see. Good thing is, I'm not on any timeline.. the grass ain't begun to go wild yet.

I use this on myself and the dogs. No hair pulled out and no heads left. I have used it so much on the dog that he just lays there and patiently waits for me to get done. Best investment I ever made for getting ticks off a dog.

I got up way too early at 0430 and headed out to move some snow.   Didn't feel like shoveling this much snow so I fired up the snowblower and went over to my neighbors house to clear her driveway first.   Made a couple passes and the engine blew.   No compression and a lot of metallic rattling when I pull the rope starter.   I'm guessing the piston seized and the conrod broke.  It was a real workout pushing the dead snowblower from her house, down the road and up my long driveway.   I borrowed her snowblower to finish both driveways.  She's in her 80s and is afraid to use the electric starter on it.

My dead Ariens snowblower is over 30 years old.   I suppose I could put a new motor in it for a couple hundred bucks but I really don't feel like doing that in the middle of winter.   It is 30+ years old and other mechanical components have loosened up so maybe I'll buy a new one.  The amortized dead one cost me about $40 per year to remove snow, although in a  few low-snow years it wasn't really used, so I'm pretty satisfied with it's longevity.  If I buy a new one, I might go with a smaller, lighter one.   If I had a heart attack there is no way my wife could handle a heavy unit.   I hope I can find a really tall one since I'm 6'-5" and the bending over to reach the controls is tough on my back.

 I just finished a 40 x 140 foot swat of 8" snow with an electric snow blower. This one is corded, as it was cheap and I wanted to test the " frozen waters" first before considering a cordless upgraded version, I now see Robot ones that can also mow lawn

My Neighbor has a Greenworks 24 inch battery powered self propelled electric snow blower.
He paid about $2100 for it (out the door)
It works good most of the time.
No starter rope to pull and no carburetor to get fouled.
It is not the greatest in deep heavy wet snow or what the snow plow throws up.
If the battery overheats, it shuts off and he has to wait 20 minutes or so before he can use it again.
He has two batteries for it, in order to keep going after one overheats.
He is thinking about getting a third battery, because he has had both overheat before he got done.

I was just looking at electric snowblowers online.   I think they would be great 75 or 80% of the time for light snow.   But the other 20 or 25% of the time they'd be completely inadequate.   My 200 foot long driveway plus a wide parking area, barn access, blowing off the patios, walkways and birdfeeding area and my 80year old neighbors driveway would be way beyond a battery pack or two.  It sure would be great if that could be done with a hassle free electric motor.   I'd want a heavy duty physically rugged chassis and blower like on the Ariens for when it ingests a blown down branch, iceballs or rocks thrown into my driveway from street plowing.

Mornin y’all.  Still not sleeping well.  Got up about 0400 and checked the pasture for Armadillos.  None in sight so I went back to bed.  Plans for the day include a dump run and possibly a stop at the garden supply.

 With the recent cold snap I was up every few hours to check on the wood boiler and add some logs as needed. I will drive my tired butt to work and do snow cleanup, and be ready for the next fluffy storm. Ending the day by cutting up another load of wooden warmth May try some squirrel hunting depending on time limits.

Good Morning!
 I slept pretty well and woke up at 6:32 this morning. I got 4 hours and 33 minutes of restful sleep, WHAT! How did that happen? LOL.

  Well, I feel about as good as any morning today.

  My main plan for today is picking up a grandson at 5:30 PM from John Wayne Airport and then taking him to his mother in laws house so he can drive his/wife's inherited truck back to ID, a 13 hour drive to his place.
  We will probably stop to eat something but he has to get right on the road to home so he can be on a job tomorrow. He owns a plumbing company and his boss (himself) won't let him take tomorrow off. He actually has a big job scheduled that is critical for his client to get done.

 Now, before I leave I plan on making a rattlesnake skin hatband today. I ordered all that is needed last week based on online videos I watched, this is a first time for me. The skin I plan on using may be too small but I think I can make it work, we'll see...

Mornin y’all.  I ain’t sleeping real well but thems the breaks.  I’m the late shift at the park today so I can try and go back to sleep.  Belle climbed in the bed with La Esposa when I got up.  She looks so comfortable that I hate to move her.  Well there’s probably room for me in there!  Puppy pile!

I was relocating my rolling heavy cart rack of stacked wood on the patio when one wheel which had a bad bearing that I didn't know about suddenly jerked the cart off the side of the patio and the entire stacks fell onto the grass since I couldn't stop it from falling over due to the weight since I was standing on the patio. If I'd been standing on the grass pushing the cart away from the edge then I could've stopped that from falling. Why do a job just once when you can do it all over again twice is my motto apparently. I got plenty of exercise yesterday and sore legs from it on my supposed day of rest.

Rained all night and predicted to rain all day and all night tonight. Looks like I'll be spending the day in the shop. It's all good I got plenty to do in there. Still got some clean up to finish from the motor swap on the zturn.
I called Uncle Mike the mower guy and he's excited about getting the bones from the eXmark donor. I told him I would load it up and drop it off in the next few days. It's got a newish battery in it that I will save. I looked at starter, carb and other engine parts.. none will fit the Kawasaki.
Gonna be a job getting it up on the trailer. I'll most likely back the ATV up on the big trailer and use the winch to drag it up onto the back of the trailer. When I get to Mike's I can strap it to a tree and drive out from under it.
Meanwhile I got airgun stuff to tinker with.
