I looked at the weather report for the next 10 days.  We are getting low temps at night so I went to Lowe’s and bought a water heater insulating blanket and wrapped the water heater with it.  I also wrapped the water lines that were exposed.

Me and Boss been up since around 3:30. She ate and went out and I scanned some something interesting to stream. I ended up on some logging reality stuff. These guys are felling big old 8' cedar.
Anyways.. bout to hit the shower and get to phase 1 of the zturn motor swap... preparing the shop and moving the donor in. That's actually the easy part since it will run and somewhat move under it's own power.
Superbowl and some libation later..

I got up at 4:30 this morning.  That's a little later than normal for me.  I've been making some more wind flags to use on my spinner target stands. The old ones still worked somewhat but the survey ribbon was wanting to curl.  Yesterday I made three flags and I'll probably make 4 more today.

 I had set my alarm for 4:00 but I woke up at 3:47 so I got up and shut the alarm off before it went off and disturbed my wife's sleep.

 I have my coffee and will finish my Sunday morning routine. Our Sunday School is at 8:30-9:30 and our morning service immediately follows.

Today's plans have been set in stone for weeks as per my annual tradition.

1: Me and Dawg go for a grocery run before the Walmartians get out.
2: Shovel and salt the walks at the Lodge for tonight's "Super Bowl Party".
3: Shoot airguns at my indoor 10M range. (already set up)
4: Noon(ish) nap.
5: Send off Hoosier Momma to go do her "festive Boss thing" at the Lodge "Super Bowl Party" and be grateful I don't have to go!
6: Annual tradition of doing Taxes today.
7: Shoot more airguns at my indoor 10M range.
8: Crack open a bottle of something hard.... Jim is already here waiting. (subject to change)
9: Cook something amazing.
10: Go to bed sometime around 21:00

Boss has really been shaking her head the past couple days and that usually means Betty Lou need to clean her ears. But when I was watching her eat this morning I noticed something. On top of her right ear where it connects to her head was what looked like a tick. With a closer look it appeared to be 2 of them together and dug in. She wouldn't let me do anything with them so I had to wait for BL to get up so I could help her get them.. her eyes are much better than mine.
So far we got one of them before wasn't having it anymore. We'll let her chill for awhile then get the other one.

It's rare around here if it ever gets below tick weather. Crops, fields and livestock make it a good place for them.

Got the space made and the eXmark is in the operating room.  It was a Mambo waltz to back it in with the bad drive pump and flat tires but I danced and got it in there.  I'll let the motor cool before I even look at it again. Then the battery, fuel lines and electrical.
What's nice is that I have the 1000lb. cherry picker that was brought in from the medical supply house to lift Killer out of the bed and into his chair He never used it because he said it hurt him. It's on wheels and the boom swivels. The legs also scissor narrow to wide. The perfect tool for lifting small engines.

The nicest thing is that, even with the mower in the shop, I still have plenty of room to take breaks and open the shooting window for some frustration relief if things start to go foul.

Ticks are just a fact of life year round here.  I found eight seed ticks on myself yesterday evening.  I was wearing lots of “park ranger perfume” so only one of them had got settled.

That’s a little fact about Flarda that ya’ll Yankeees should know.  We have more venomous, biting insects than all the other 48 states combined and we have them year round!  Combined with our indigenous swamp-billy cannibals Flarda is not a salubrious place for visitors from the Nawth.  Y’all should just stay home!

Mornin y’all!  I slept in today and wallered with the memsahib in bed.  Plans for today are sloth and dissipation with a leavening of drunken bacchanalia!

Thinking about dragging my ATK 400 out and go for a dirt bike ride. I haven't rode in almost a year and I really miss it. It's way to dry for fleas and ticks around here.

Ticks... there were 2 in the same general spot and the last one was just removed. Boss will soon be her joyful self again.. although she is giving BL the stink eye. A dog treat or 2 should fix that eye issue. She still loves me because I didn't rip no hair out of her ear.
The mower... All the fuel lines and wiring are loose, the battery disconnected and it's up on the jack stands. Next is to pull the clutch and drive pullies and take the mounting bolts out. Electric and air impacts should make easy work of that.
Looks like I will have time to finish at least a couple phases today. I expect to have some remnants of tonight's Superbowl festivities lingering in my head tomorrow so that may require a day of recovery.    We'll see. Good thing is, I'm not on any timeline.. the grass ain't begun to go wild yet.
