I worked a double shift at work yesterday/last night.  Off 0700 this morning.  Home now for an 8 hour break then back to work for my last shift of the week.  Cold and clear outside, simply beautiful!  This sure beats the gray skies and rain which is the usual here in Western Washington during January and February.  It’s so peaceful in the house at the moment that I can hear the clock ticking on the wall and a train blowing its horn waaaay off in the distance.  That’s one thing that I like when the air is cold and dense, the way sound travels so far.

Mornin y’all.  I woke up abut 0530 and let the dogs out.  Then I went back to bed.  Belle just woke me again a few minutes ago.  My friend Geoff is coming to visit today.  If it gets warm enough we might try to hike some.

 Thanks, it is almost 8:30 and no one except my wife and I are up yet. It is starting off warmer today at 37 degrees. A little while ago my wife and I both at the same time felt it was getting cold in our trailer, our first 30lb LP tank ran out, I went out and switched to the second tank and the heater got going again. 

 Wednesday, the day we got here the water jugs we had left inside the trailer were frozen from this cold snap. So, our heater has been working hard to keep us warm. Now I know 30lbs of LP lasts 2 and and a half days for us in these conditions.

I think you will probably need to go the southern route going home. We're suppose to get snow Mon thru Wednesday. Sounds like 3 to 4 inches which will close down the I40 at least just east of Ash Fork but not sure how far on the other side of Flagstaff.

Up late as intended I have the small crotch goblin gonna pick up the large one later and procure sundries to survive for the rest of the weekend.

Good morning, still in the 30's here in the mornings but that is changing this week. Finally start to thaw out some for a minute. Today finish processing the oranges. The navel tree did get through the cold without to much damage but the fruit froze so that will be made into juice and fruit leather for snacks. I had pulled most of the fruit off the other trees before this freeze and it was made into juice as well. My calamondin took a beating, the tree is fine but the fruit is totaled. It's sour like a lime but orange in color, it's a very delicate fruit and doesn't take much to damage it.  The rest of the fruit trees are dormant so no worries with the cold weather with them.
  Since the weather will be fair this week the repairs on the van will get started. The holiday shipping mayhem and vacations are over and should be able to get parts without waiting on something or someone to show up. Hopefully I can get the worst of this done this week. My biggest headache is the water pump and engine mounts. The rest is easy to get to.

 It takes me a minute to decide what day it is sometimes also LOL.  Plan on going out for Sunday brunch, then tinker with airguns, looking over a Blue Streak, for a client and get parts ordered for it. I'm sure that squirrel will help me when it needs to

Since retirement I couldn't really care less what day of the week it is. Only 2 things distinguishes them.. Sunday is no mail and the trash needs to be set out. 
Yeah I know, something about that may not sit well with some of you that look upon Sunday with other things in mind.. and that's ok with me too. Let's just leave it there to make sure we are coloring within the lines. 
The plan for today is, well, taking out the trash.    Other than that there are no set plans.. probably something airgun related.

Going down to my daughter's house and spend the night. I have a new pet sitting client and I have to be there by 9am tomorrow morning. I have to go over and meet the pet parents today to go over what I need to feed and when. If there are any meds that the pup needs,etc.

SS, church, go to a buddy’s house and check out a new pew pew.  Come home and enjoy the day.  It’s cold and clear out.  I’m feeling the need for an outdoor fire, coffee and possibly distributing some lead back to the earth where it was taken from (shooting an airgun).  I need to straighten up the shop so I may pump the beats and work on that some also. 

Tomorrow Mrs P and I will head down to Oregon to spend the day with one of our daughters.  She has been wanting us to come down and our schedules worked out for tomorrow.  It’s supposed to be sunny skies so that will be perfect! 😎🌞

Us rangers work a constantly rotating schedule.  Because of this we refer to "my" Monday and "my" Friday.  We don't pay much attention to what day of the week it really is.  We work six day weeks so it gets kind of confusing.  We also have what we call "first" Wednesday and "second" Wednesday as well as a "Super Friday" every six weeks.  For years I worked a schedule called a "seven and three" that would really mess with your mind.

Well it's just about flip flop weather again here. Just finished up uncovering the plants and picking the last of the fruit to process. No vehicle repair today with chance of rain later this afternoon but go through the trouble of jacking it up off the ground so I can get under it. Fixed the plumbing under the fish cleaning sink so I have water again. Not much else for a minute.

I think it was Home Depot I applied for many years ago.. they did the swing shifts. You changed shifts every week. No thanks. I had enough problem trying to sleep when I supervised both 12 hour shifts in the automotive production industry... If there were issues on 2nd shift I had to go until I got them worked out.

It's the first day that I haven't had any sort of fever in a while, managed to get out to the shop to mess around a bit. Nothing productive but beats being stuck in the backroom. Not much else planned for today, tomorrow I might start to play catch up around the household.

Thanks Wendell and Gil. I use nothing but heavy duty jack stands with support platforms, wheel chocks, and set the emergency brake. Just the front end will be off the ground. I stay in constant contact with friends and family when I do something like this. I have seen my fair share of automotive repairs gone wrong with jaw breaker jacks and stacked wood. I have multiple repairs to do so it's one thing at a time. The water pump is the first thing to do, it's in a lousy place to get to. The stuff that has to pass DMV inspection is the bumper and grill, radiator, and headlights. The rest is more maintenance related since the front is going to be dismantled, replace the water pump, fan belt, engine mounts, thermostat, water hoses(maybe), and electric fans. This way I don't have to tear the car apart later on, I am all for preventive maintenance.

Broke a boot lace this morning and the red wings store don't open till 9 so one annoying loose boot today. Let's see if I can't finish the full rebuild on this Honda rancher today...
