Mornin y’all.  I got up extra early this a.m. and drove my truck in to Hooterville to get the front end aligned.  I stopped by the alignment shop yesterday and arranged to drop it off today.  When I got there the same rather dim young man I had spoken to yesterday told me that the guy who does alignments is off today.  I got a little short with him and pointed out that I had made an appointment with him yesterday and perhaps he should have checked?  The guy didn’t even apologize.  He just said he would talk to the owner.  He comes back in five minutes and tells me that there’s another technician who might be able to do it but he won’t be in for an hour.  I thanked him politely and left.  I called an old friend who has his own shop and asked him but he said he only does pull-and-plug work now days.

Lots of “technicians” out there but there ain’t many “mechanics” left.

Oh poop.  I’ll find somebody that wants to work on it.  Problem is I’ll have to drive the memsahib’s tiny econo-box until then.

I absolutely despise people like that. I wonder how big does a guy have to get before he's treated with respect? Maybe if you walked in with a biker gang jacket on then they'd get your car done fast?

Yep that's one of the reasons I don't like anyone working on my house or vehicles.  Only now I'm gettin' too old to do a lot of stuff and we'll have to start hiring people.  The other reason is I'm cheap.

When I screw something up, at least I don't hide it from me.   Plus the labor was cheap so what can I really expect?

I can't believe this!! It's snowing right now!🥶🥶 It's not suppose to even get out of the 40s and right now it's in the mid 30s. I've never seen snow this early in the year. Of course it's not sticking but still.

It's all right.  The memsahib says I have some kind of repulsive effect on sales people and service people.   She says it's absolutely eerie what bad service I get.  I don't know.  Just normal to me.  A lot of people don't seem to want to do business with me.  The memsahib says it's because I look like a crank.  Could be.  I AM a crank.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I slept in until about 0600. Andi, my wife, is on a women’s retreat with the ladies from Church. I’m on-call this weekend, but I don’t expect any work. If I have to run, I’ll find someone to let Ayrabella hangout with. If it stays quiet, I plan on getting some shooting in. Andi should get home sometime this afternoon.

Good Morning, I got to bed at 1:00 and woke up at 5:29 this morning, I stayed in bed another 20 minutes trying to go back to sleep, it wasn't happening so I got up and got my coffee, and here I am.

 So yesterday I got the external drive ready to ship to my son. The tedious part was writing him install instructions for the no longer supported or available Bible software I included. It has been a while since I installed it on my newest Laptop manually and I just figured it out on the fly but, I didn't remember all that's needed. The install program is designed to access internet servers that are shut down now so, to install the program now the easiest way is to 1st run the install file I included, 2nd don't open the program, 3rd manually copy the hidden system files to where they are supposed to be located and then edit the programs and system files to match. I created detailed instructions that include screen shots for each step he will need to do for the "manual install" since it won't just auto-install anymore and the books within the program are no available anymore either so I included copies of my 9 Gigabyte Library and Global Data.  There are no instructions available, anywhere that I have found, for the program but there are a few solutions for specific problems others have had posted online. I read all that I could find and combined the solutions as steps to do that should prevent any of the problems others have had. I think I wrote pretty good instructions if I say so myself, LOL! If it doesn't work for him I'll offer to fix it with remote access.

 Today I plan on going to the bank and mowing/scalping the weeds for 4 hours or so.  The weather is supposed to be clear, sunny and have a high of 80°F.

Arm is improving.  They said 6 months to a year so I have some time to go.  It’s only been just over 3 months as of now so I have time before I get concerned.  I was hoping to be farther along by now.  I’m not hindered but I haven’t gotten full strength or feeling back yet and I have some discomfort in there when moving under strain certain ways but like I said, it’s only been 3 months.  Thanks for asking. 🙏🏼

At work all day today 0700-2300.  I slept here last night.  We have had a few jobs, nothing major.  It’s dry outside so that I a huge plus.  When it’s wet out it makes normally enjoyable task not so enjoyable.  When it’s dark AND wet is when it’s the worst.  Sunny and 75 for me please.🙏🏼

I'm the late shift at the park for the next three nights.  What a relief!  Late shift is busy but it goes by quick.  Today I only had to take one boat out.  A wedding party and they were all roaring drunk.  Good thing nobody lit a match on that boat or we would have all been incinerated.

I told them to leave their booze at the dock cause they were drunk enough already.  They were not happy about that.  We saw plenty of wildlife and everyone got up-close views of gators and manatee.  At the end of the trip not a visitor offered me a tip or made a donation to the park.  Usually after a trip like that I'll be offered a half dozen tips.  Which I will decline because I'm a state employee and I'll direct the visitor to our park donation box.  I must have really P Oed that bunch!

James, we live in a valley and we are surrounded by pumpkin patches.  The traffic is terrible here on the weekends during the season before Halloween. Today is a beautiful day out so I’m sure that we will have a traffic jam getting to and from out house today.  It’s unbelievable.  A person has to experience it to know what I’m talking about.  😬😜🤠

Thanks for making this time of year so much fun for the folks in your area.  You are a part of building memories!

I’d probably use a lawnmower had I a beard that thick 😂
